GOD'S GIFTS & GOODWORKS
Love INC of Greater Holmes County | January 2021
While the number of the year changes to the next digit, new
resolutions are made, and memories – good and bad – are in the past,
yet there is one thing that remains the same. As a beloved child of
God, no matter the year, month, week, day, hour, minute or second,
God’s love and purpose for us – His children, His Church, never
changes.
His love invites each and every one of us into a relationship with Him.
He pours out His gifts of grace, love, presence and promises
unconditionally. In fact, He loves us so much, He sent Jesus to earth as
a sacrifice. He gifted to us His Holy Spirit to live in us as we walk this
earth, awaiting our forever home.
It's out of a love relationship with Jesus Christ, that we, as His
followers, should strive to acknowledge and embrace all the gifts He
pours upon us. As we allow these gifts to be unwrapped, we will see
even more clearly our purpose on earth. We are part of the Body of
Christ, the Church. May we individually and collectively tune into the
work that God is doing in our midst. It is imperative that the Church
be active and on the move. God brings hope and light through the
Body of Christ. As we read Scripture and consider what gifts God has
given to us, and come to more and more of an understanding that He
has equipped us in Him to use our gifts to do good works, we can no
longer sit still. We should be so moved by our loving relationship with
Jesus, that we cannot contain ourselves.
Throughout this year, let’s explore together the deep love and purpose
God has for His Body – for the Church. We will dive into and unwrap
the gifts that we are given personally and as the Body of Christ, and
will consider and take action in the good works “God prepared in
advance for us to do”. And in turn, we will show love…In the Name of
Christ!

How have you seen God shine through your volunteer experience? "I
have been fortunate to work with a wonderful and giving furniture
warehouse staff and group of furniture movers. I see God shine
through these caring individuals through the time they give to ensure
families in our community are able to furnish their living spaces to
make their homes functional and warm. I am honored and blessed to
be a part of such a great team of volunteers!"
Volunteer SpotlightStephanie Nickles is our new Furniture Ministry Coordinator! Stephanie organizes
furniture deliveries and pick-ups and does everything with amazing organizational
skills. Read more about Stephanie and our furniture ministry below!
FURNITURE MINISTRYWe had the opportunity to interview David Caron, Furniture
Warehouse Coordinator, about his involvement in the
warehouse and how it works.
"It is the part of Love INC of Greater Holmes County that
safeguards and, in a few cases, improve the furniture,
appliance, and household goods we receive as donations.
This allows us to provide safe, serviceable, and sanitary
items for families that need them through our Love INC
programs and projects.
God works in many ways. There is little rolling thunder or
parting of the seas at the warehouse. Just people with a
servant heart getting their hands dirty preparing physical
objects to be given to other people they want to help –
people whom they will usually never meet. I love the idea,
and more than that, the effort to serve our neighbor
through inter-church and inter-denominational
cooperation. With no self-righteousness or denominational
boundaries." -David Caron
What is your volunteer role? "As the Love INC Furniture Ministry Coordinator, I
coordinate the delivery of furniture donations to our warehouse as well as the delivery
of furniture requests to families in our community. I communicate with our warehouse
team, furniture mover volunteers, and the members of our community to help make
these donations and requests happen."
What brought you to volunteer with Love INC? "I had been looking for meaningful ways I
could contribute to my community and give back. I was grateful to discover diverse
opportunities within Love INC for volunteering that aligned with my strengths as well as
areas I was looking to grow in."
How have you grown or changed through volunteering? "Volunteering has solidified for me that one of the most important
gifts you can give to others is your time. I have seen many examples of this, such as through giving your time to help
complete a project, giving your time to help watch and play with children so their parents can engage in meaningful
opportunities for their families, giving your time to deliver furniture to those who deserve a warm bed to sleep in each
night, or through giving your time to listen to another's story. While making monetary donations is important, I have come
more to understand how the sincere donation of one's time makes the most impact in making a difference for others."
Thank you so much, Stephanie, for all you do and for sharing your story! Interested in getting involved? Let us know by
