We recommend that you carefully read through all instructions before getting started on your project.

Step 1: 4-patch Units and Stem Units

Four Patch Units

Cutting Set 1:

• (4) 2½" squares each: cotton candy weave, lilac weave, turquoise blue weave, peony weave

Set 2:• (4) 2½" squares each: geranium leaf, tangerine

swirl, red swirl, bubble gum swirl.

Set 3:• (2) 2½" squares each: shamrock swirl, marine swirl,

pansy swirl, deep ocean square spiral.

Assembly1. Join 4 squares from Set 1 to make a 4-patch unit. Make 4-patch units in the sets and quantities shown.

Stem units Cutting WOF= width of fabric (perpendicular to selvage)

• Cut 1½" x 2½" rectangles: 6 shamrock swirl, 2 grape spiral square, 2 sapphire swirl

• Vanilla weave: (2) 3" x WOF strips. Subcut (20) 2½" x 3"rectangles.

AssemblySew (2) 2½" x 3" rectangles to the sides of each 1½" x 2½" print rectangles. Make stem units in the quanti-ties shown.

Step 2: Flying Geese Units and Flying Geese Variation Units

• (3) 2½" x 4½" rectangles green mist weave• (3) 2½" x 4½" rectangles powder blue weave• (2) 2½" x 4½" rectangles lilac weave• (2) 2½" x 4½" rectangles grape square spiral• Vanilla weave: (2) 2½" x WOF strips. Subcut (20)

AssemblyDraw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of (20) 2½" x 2½" vanilla squares. Place square on a 2½" x 4½" green mist rectangle, right sides together. Sew on drawn line. Trim ¼" away from sewn line. Open and press to reveal vanilla corner triangle. Repeat with an additional 2½" vanilla square on the other end of the green rectangle to complete 1 flying geese unit.

Sew a 1½" x 2½" vanilla rectangle to each side of the flying geese unit.

Make flying geese units in the quantities shown.

Flying Geese Variation Units

Cutting• (6) 2½" x 6½" rectangles each: spring green leaf,

blue aster leaf• (2) 2½" x 6½" rectangles each: crocus leaf, royal

square spiral• (2) 2½" x 6½" rectangles each: sunflower swirl,

carrot square spiral• Vanilla weave: (3) 2½" x WOF strips. Subcut (40)

2½" squares.

AssemblyDraw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of (40) 2½" vanilla ground squares. Place a square on a 2½" x 6½" spring green leaf rectangle, right sides together. Sew on drawn line. Trim ¼" away from sewn line. Open and press to reveal vanilla corner triangle. Repeat with another 2½" vanilla square on the opposite end of the green rectangle to complete a flying geese variation unit. Make flying geese variation units in the quantities shown.

AssemblyArrange and sew together (5) 2½" squares as shown. Make 10 rows in each combination as shown.

Pastel Row Units

Cutting• (8) 2½" x 2½" squares from lilac weave.• (2) 2½" x 2½" squares from melon weave.• (10) 2 ½” x 2 ½” squares from each fabric,

buttercream weave, powder blue weave, turquoise blue weave, green mist weave, cotton candy weave, peony weave, and soft green weave.

• (20) 2½" x 2½" squares each: cloud blue weave, powder pink weave, and butter weave.

AssemblyArrange and sew together (4) 2½" squares as shown. Make 8 identical rows.

Arrange and sew together (4) 2½" squares as shown. Make 2 identical rows.

Arrange and sew together (5) 2½" squares in order as shown. Make 10 identical rows in each combination.

Step 4

Star Blocks

Cutting• (16) 2½" squares from each: daffodil leaf, apricot

leaf, party pink leaf, turquoise leaf, and azalea square spiral. Note that you can cut almost EXACTLY (16) 2½" squares. Cut carefully to be sure you have enough squares. In the event of cutting errors, substitute with leftover fabrics.

• (10) 2½" squares soft green• Vanilla weave: (7) 2" x WOF strips. Subcut (30) 2½"

squares and (40) 2½" x 4½" rectangles.

Assembly1. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of (16) 2½" daffodil leaf squares. Place a square on a 2½" x 4½" vanilla rectangle, right sides together. Sew on drawn line. Trim ¼" away from stitching. Open and press to reveal daffodil corner triangle. Repeat with another 2½" daffodil leaf square on the opposite end of the vanilla rectangle to com-plete 1 flying geese unit. Make 8 daffodil/vanilla flying geese units.

2. Sew 2 flying geese units to the sides of a pastel 4-patch unit to make a row.

3. Sew one pastel 4-square row unit 1 to the left side of the star unit. Sew one of each pastel 5-square unit 3 and 4 to the bottom of the star unit to complete a block. Make 2 identical blocks.

4. Make 2 star blocks in apricot leaf, party pink leaf, and azalea square colorway shown.

Sew a 2½" vanilla square to each end of a flying geese unit to make a row.

Sew a 2½" soft green square and a 2½" vanilla square to a flying geese unit to make a row as shown.

Sew the rows together to complete a star unit.

5. Sew one pastel 4-square row unit 2 to the left side of the star unit. Sew one of each pastel 5-square unit 3 and 4 to the bottom of the star unit to complete a block. Make 2 identical turquoise blocks.

Step 5: Tree Blocks

Cutting• Vanilla weave: (5) 2½" x WOF strips. Subcut (20)

2½" x 8½" rectangles.

Assembly1. Join the flying geese and flying geese variation units with the appropriate stem units to complete a tree unit as shown. Make tree units in the color combinations and quantities shown.

2. Sew a 2½" x 8½" vanilla rectangle to the right side of one tree unit, followed by a 2½" x 8½" vanilla rectangle to the bottom.

3. Sew a Bright Unit 2 to the right side of the tree unit. Sew a Bright unit 1 to the bottom to complete 1 tree block, as shown. Make 3 identical blocks.

Step 6: Quilt Top Assembly

Cutting• Vanilla weave: (6) 3½" x WOF strips. Piece strips

end to end and subcut (2) 3½" x 60½" side borders and (2) 3½" x 46½" top and bottom borders.

QUILT ASSEMBLY1. Arrange and sew together 4 blocks in each of 5 rows as shown.

2. Sew the rows together to complete the quilt center.

3. Sew the 3½" x 60½" vanilla strips to the sides of quilt center. Sew the 3½" x 46½" vanilla strips to the top and bottom to complete the quilt top.

FINISHINGCutting

• Apricot leaves: (6) 2½" x WOF strips for binding.

1. Cut backing fabric into (2) 1½ yard lengths. Sew pieces together along their length.

2. Layer quilt top, batting, and backing fabric. Baste and quilt as desired.

3. Make binding using 2½"-wide apricot leaves strips and sew binding to the quilt. While all possible care has been taken to ensure the

accuracy of this pattern, we are not responsible for printing errors or the way in which individual work varies.
