DESCRIPTION

“I have taken everything unto myself, have absorbed everything. Do not be afraid. I am here,” says Jesus. These comforting words appear in Walk with Me, the second of three books that document Nicole Gausseron’s conversations with Christ. Reading like the transcript of a conversation between dear friends, Walk with Me is proof that Jesus lives now and seeks a personal relationship with those who believe in him. Nicole Gausseron doesn’t claim to be a saint or a visionary. An ordinary woman, she serves as the director of a shelter for homeless men, and is a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. In stunningly simple language, Gausseron shares her frailty, her fears, her joy, and her doubts with Christ, who responds with words of comfort and encouragement, not just for her but for all who love him.

The first burial. At the hospital. It’s poor and barren, not even a flower. We are burying the brother of one of the Companions. The poor and the homeless are there, about fifteen of them. Secours Catholique is present, too. Pierre, the Companions.

The Lord enters the church and seems to take us all in his arms.

Later on there is the funeral, without Mass, of a month-old baby. The mother is in anguish. The pain that the others are suffering affects me deeply. But the baby is among the living.

Beams of light seem to shine forth from his open hands.

I pour out my tenderness on you. Let it wash over you.

It’s like a great light, a sweetness that floods us.

I do believe in it, Jesus.

Where are you, Lord?

No answer.

A few minutes later the back of my neck begins to feel warm. It’s like a bright point centered on a spot on my neck. I’m suspicious at first. I rub my hand over the spot. There’s nothing there, and yet I feel this warmth until the end of Mass.

What’s this all about?

I want you to feel me.

There are twelve of us in the group. On the very first day I break my wrist.

I think I’m going to have a lot of time to spend with you, Jesus.

He smiles.
