Walking on Our Knees Together April 2014 Dal and Beth Stanton Sofia, Bulgaria www.mtwbg.com [email protected] Please continue praying for Ukraine Some have been confused about our appeals for prayer for Ukraine since we are in Bulgaria. Our family spent 8 years in Ukraine when this work started in the 90s. Our MTW colleagues and pastors/members of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ukraine, are near and dear to our hearts. I’m under no delusion, the situation is perplexing but our God is the Lord of history and only He has the power to bring about His purposes through the intrigues of men. Please pray! Daughters of Bulgaria update: Our daughters on Bulgarian TV As we wrote last month, DofB is exploring working with Servants Anonymous Foundation, based in Calgary, Canada. SAF specializes in developing shelters for women and their children who have been exploited, with long-term training programs and relationships as paths to wholeness. April 9-11 (next week!) we will drive to Budapest, Hungary, to visit one such shelter. Pray to the Lord for wisdom as we explore this possible direction for establishing a shelter for our daughters in Bulgaria! Outreaches to the daughters continue weekly. Pray! Every Sunday (10:30AM Eastern TZ!) we drive to the Ring Road to show and tell them who Jesus is! Can you help by giving? Click the rose! Join the battle in prayer for the minds & hearts of these women! Write to receive special DofB Updates: [email protected] These are our girls showing the strip of the Ring Road where Jesus ‘shows up’ every Sunday PM through our DofB outreach team. We heard about the interview as “R” (far left) shared with our ladies her involvement in a shooting on the RR after her ‘controller’ and two clients ended in jail and the hospital after a brawl on the RR. The attention of the news media followed with “R”, “A” and others on camera. The interview reveals the lack of work in their home-town and the general mistreatment by police and others. The back-drop of the interview is the appeal to legalize prostitution in Bulgaria. PRAY! Clicking the picture will take you to the interview generally entitled, “Prostitutes Protest”. The clip gives a good feel for the context of our work.

Daughters of Bulgaria update: Our daughters on Bulgarian TV

As we wrote last month, DofB is exploring working with Servants Anonymous Foundation, based in Calgary, Canada. Jordan and Jocelyn after the surgery!!

Jordan is doing great! Last month you prayed for Jordan, our son in law, who was to have surgery to replace a valve in his heart. Oh my, how good the Lord is! His surgery went very well and his recovery has been amazing! He is home now and continuing to grow stronger. Thank you so, so much for your prayers for Jordan and Jocelyn and for OUR peace as we were unable to be with them during this time of need. We WERE able to order and send flowers online from Bulgaria! Aren’t they beautiful?

Pray for our trip next week to Budapest to visit the shelter & new initiative with the Servants Anonymous Foundation and Daughters of Bulgaria.

Please pray for summer plans for The Well, new interns, English Camp, Baseball Camp, and a NEW summer initiative in Plovdiv – a 6 Week English & Youth outreach.

Pray for the completion of renovations to our Christian Cultural Center to ready it for ministry use.

What do they

share in common?

The Elias Riggs Center for Biblical Studies Training leaders to respond to today’s needs is a critical part of MTW’s role in Bulgaria. We believe that all our efforts to reach Bulgarians for Christ must lead to people experiencing this reality in a ‘Community of Faith’. Strong, Biblically grounded, grace saturated leaders are

essential to realize this goal.
