With Christmas on our doorsteps, Beth and I would like to express our

deep appreciation for your partnership as we serve Christ in Bulgaria.

We say this over and over again, running the risk that our words lose

their meaning. Yet, without you, we could not be here. Without your

gifts, our rent would not be paid, nor our food bought. Without your

prayers we would be striving in our own strength. So, from our hearts, we

thank you! We wish you and your families a wonderful celebration of His

    incarnation!

with the love of Christ is a way

we seek to make known His

    hope. Working with a Med

Team coming from the US, we

    partnered with a local church

    in Parzardzhik to serve over

    100 folks, mostly elderly

    seeking help. More

important than the number, was the

quality of time team members spent with each personnot simply addressing their physical needs, but going deeper to the needs

of their hearts. Team members Boian and Greg (right) pray with one lady

whose physical need brought her into the presence of Christ. Ruthie Aase

(left) is one of our MTW interns who came last June, participated in The Well and extended her time of service by

several months. Ruthie is an RN and worked as part of the Med Team. She, along with fellow-intern, Ali Morgan, will

be leaving us in January returning to the US after serving 7 months working primarily with English clubs. They will be

missed!!! Pray for the impact of the Med team that the local church can follow-up with those helped.

Through rain, ice and snow, we continue to visit our Daughters on the Ring

Road every Sunday evening. We gather for prayer at 5PM and seek to beon the road by 6:30 (11:30AM Eastern time!) serving hot tea, coffee and

Christ-flavored fellowship on the side of the road, as cars and semis rush

by. What a joy it is to see their faces, revealed by our headlights,

transformed from the prostitute look to softer faces with smiles and joy

after they recognize us. Driving the mini-van, and seeing this

transformation, both warms my heart and breaks it at the same time! Oh

Jesus! Let these precious ones know you! Pray!! On December 23rd

    we

will bring Christmas to the Ring Road gifts not only for the Daughters,

but for their children too. Through tangibly demonstrating Christs love,

week after week, we are seeing God work! Keep reading

Lydia (right) along with Bulgarian partner Lora,

are working together to facilitate a new English

Club outreach in downtown Sofia in partnership

    with First Evangelical Church.

More than a year ago the DofB team made first contact with M. After

a number of visits with M the following weeks, she expressed a desire to

improve the small grasp of the English language she had to perhaps,

open a path to a different way of life. Even though we made an

overture to help her with this, like so many Daughters we meet, M

disappeared from the Ring Road and only recently, did we regaincontact with her. Neither

    she nor we had forgotten

    about this fragile

    opportunity to meet with

    M off the Road.

    PRAY! Tomorrow, a

meeting has been arranged with M to meet with Lydia and Anni

(Bulgarian DofB team member) to begin helping her learn English! This

meeting would represent the first opportunity to meet with any

    Daughter in a context

    removed from the Road.

    Lydia Goeglein (who is our

niece!), came to Bulgaria a few years ago to teach in our missionary kid

school, SCA. Today she heads up our Teaching English community

outreach working with interns and Bulgarian partners.

Over the last year, the Teaching English ministry has grown in wonderful

ways under Lydias leadership! Pictured to the left is an impromptu get-

together at our flat. Our interns meet with Bulgarians for English Clubs

and what naturally follows are the invites to come! What a joy to me

when our table talks become a platform for ministry! The young men

sitting across are both searching for Truth! Pray that our English Clubscontinue to challenge Bulgarians who are searching by demonstrating Christs love through teaching English, and also

let the clubs continue to open doors to share the hope of Christ!
