No

Sinceramente, Dra. Tamára McAllister Directora

This year has really flown by and I couldn’t be happier with the amazing things our students have accomplished! Bulldogs are working hard to reach our goal of 9 days without any

negative referrals so that we can have our annual student vs. teacher dodgeball game with spe-cial guests in attendance. Currently our students have earned 6 days and we are working hard to get 3 more! Continue talking with your student every night about how they displayed

P.A.W.S. throughout their day by asking questions such as, “Did you do your personal best?”, “How did you show PAWS today?”, and “How many days have you earned?” Thank you for a wonderful year and have a great summer vacation!

Hello Walter Douglas Families! It has been a wonderful year full of learning and progress! As the year ends, please remember to continue checking your child’s homework every night. DIBELS reading testing is May 6-10. It is extremely important that your child complete his/her fluency passage every night! Also, please have your child practice retelling what the book was about for 1 minute. Remember to time them for one minute on their fluency and their retell! As we get closer to the end of the year, we would appreciate cleaning supplies such as Clorox wipes,

Kleenex, and paper towels. Thank you again for a spectacular year! Keep up the reading, writing, and math practice at home over the summer! Good luck in the future! Mrs. Solis Mr. Brown Ms. Myrick Mrs. Provencio 696-8355 696-8315 696-8321 696-8320

Hello Families! As we start to wrap up the school year, please continue to have your child read at home each night. The DIBELS test will be given in May to measure reading fluency. Reading at home each night and practicing for fluency will help your child meet or exceed grade level benchmark. Learning will continue to take place during the last few weeks of school; encouraging your child to always do their personal best and follow PAWS will help

your child be successful in the 4th quarter. We will also have end-of-the-year behavior incentives and special event opportunities like Awesome Aqua Day. Please make certain your child has returned library books and registration packets in order to qualify to attend. Over the summer, continue to have your child practice their math facts and read, read, read! Finally, there are many summer programs for your child to participate in (Summer Skills and YES). You can request summer registration packets from the front office or from your child’s teacher. Thank you for a wonderful school year!

Well friends, this is it. The last blurb of the 2018-2019 school year. The

PTO had a very successful year- we managed to overcome a rocky start

and finished the year with a surplus. Thank you to all of the people

who helped in any way, without your help we can't do the things we

do. I want to give special thanks to Rosa and Ashley on the PTO board.

Their superhuman efforts made a world of difference this year. We are

so proud to help this community! We'll have plenty of

opportunities for you to get involved next year. Until then though,

take a few moments during these last few weeks to notice the campus. Construction of the

new school begins this summer, so this will be our last chance to visit the Old Walter

Douglas. Enjoy it while you can! The new school will be a better place for students, staff

and the community overall. I can't wait to see it! I hope you'll join us as the Walter Douglas

community begins this transitional phase into our next adventure. As always, if you have

any questions or comments, I am available by phone or text at 520-668-6922.

Our final meeting is Wednesday the 8th at 2:30 pm. We'll be finalizing next year's agenda

and schedule. Childcare and translation are always available; I hope to see you there!
