We love to welcome children but we have to remind you (if only for legal reasons) that children remain the responsibility of the people who brought them at all times. We will be continuing our new series called Let your Kingdom Come - with Neil Townsend speaking. We do believe that God speaks and acts today - if you have a word of encouragement, a picture, a story of God’s faithfulness do come and share it with us - talk to the meeting leader at the front. Over the course of the last week, over 150 people have prayed fro Jesus to forgive them on the streets of Wantage, Abingdon, Didcot, Swindon and Henley. As we have spent time in worshipping and encountering God, and then gone out and shared the simple message of the gospel, we saw people responding, and loads of them want to be followed up. Massive thanks to everyone who got involved in one way or another. We plan to continue this with a sustainable rhythm of encounter and going on the streets - the next opportunity will be the evening of Friday the 7 th of October at St. Birinius, Didcot and then we will meet (venue tbc) to go out on the streets of Wantage on the morning of Saturday the 8 th . MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING DAY Saturday 15th October from 10am till 4pm At The Kings Centre, Oxford will be looking at areas such as:- What is a Christian approach to mental health? How to help people with anxiety and depression. Breaking strongholds - what's spiritual / what's physical. How churches can help/welcome those with mental health. How we can work well with the "professionals" to support those with mental illness. [email protected]

Prayer Space at KingAlfred’s East Site

The Prayer Space Team areback at King Alfred’s to work

with our Year 7 students duringtheir RE lessons. We need

volunteers to be around to helpstudents access the prayer

stations and encourage their participation.When?

Monday 17 - Friday 21 October 2016; 9.20-3.20 eachday. (But each volunteer only needs to sign up for part

of the day!)Where?

King Alfred’s East Site, Springfield Road, OX12 8ET(almost opposite Charlton Park Garden Centre)

Who?All Year 7 students (aged 11 and 12) during lesson time;

Any Year 7 or Year 8 students (aged 11-13) duringlunchtime

What’s involved?The Team will introduce the Space to each group ofabout 15 students who will then have about 20-30

minutes to explore the activities. The role of volunteersis to be there to offer support and encouragement as

needed.We also need some people to set up the Space

beforehand on Monday 17 October between from 9amand to help dismantle it from 1pm on the Friday.

information.The Churches in Wantage & Grove support prayerspaces in school - we need another volunteer to help

out 12.15-12.45 at KAs West Site alternate Wednesdaysin term time. Please see D if you can help. This is agreat opportunity for the young people of our area to

have the chance to stop, reflect, pray & talk if they needto - so please do consider it! - Why not try it out during

the week of prayer space mentioned above?

We are aiming to fast and pray as a church the 1st & 2nd

Monday of each month an email will go out with thingsto pray for

Helen Margetts has broughtboxes and fillers to church

for people to take home andfinish off.

On Sunday 30th October wewill bring the boxes back

and have a collecrtiontowards the postage for theboxes and the work of shoeboxes
