Event: Ignite’s “Scaling Your Business Upwards” Summit

Ignite’s inaugural Scaling Your Business Upwards Summit on the 18th and 19th of September brought together key thinkers and industry players drawn from leading Nairobi-based local and regional SMEs, to discuss the issues and challenges that are commonly faced by growing businesses.

Event Theme

The Event ChallengeWaridi’s challenge was to transform the Junction’s 3rd floor car park into a unique, Afro-inspired space that would serve as the venue of Ignite’s inaugural summit. Towards this, we provided the following services:

1. Event concept design;

2. Event planning;

3. Event registration; and

4. Event coordination.

The Registration AreaThe delegates were treated to a red carpet entrance and white glove treatment by Waridi’s event registrars at a registration kiosk that was custom designed to mirror Ignite’s brand elements, in keeping with the event theme.

The Plenary AreaThe summit’s main discussions and key note addresses were hosted at the Plenary Area. Hosting 150 pax, the plenary design was modern-afro chic and provided a unique alternative to the traditional hotel ballroom or conference room.

The Business Lounge

A backdrop of the Nairobi skyline complimented by tasteful lounge furniture pieces created an informal ambiance that was ideal for the one-on-one sessions between the delegates and the speakers.

The Break-out RoomThis space was an exact replica of Ignite’s Business Lounge and was created to allow the summit participants interact and consult regarding Ignite’s business incubation space.

The exhibition area housed local SME’s that are incubated in the Business Lounge and was designed to allow them brand and showcase their own space. The open-plan layout with picket fence separators made it easy for delegates to view the stands and network with the various exhibitors.

The Lobby Lounge

The Maasai inspired lobby lounge was a uniquely decorated space where the delegates could tête-à-tête, network, charge their devices or access the Internet. The look of this lobby was inspired by Ignite’s overall brand appeal.
