•Let’s share our observations.•Take 2 minutes and stop by other groups to see what they observed.•Let’s share as a whole group and put them up on the board to see how many different ones we’ve come up with.

•Some of you noticed that the ice got smaller. What caused that? •What inference can you make?

Let’s see if we can melt the ice quicker•You will have 5 minutes, while remaining seated, to melt the ice cubes in the plastic bag as quickly as possible.•Record in your notebook what things you did under Stuff I did to melt the ice•I will give each pair ice cubes in a bag now•Put your ice cubes in a plastic bag, squeeze out most of the air, then zip up the bag. Put the bag down then begin when I say go.

•How did you melt the ice? What does it mean when we say melt? •We added warmth or heat to the ice to make it change from a solid to a liquid

A list of 12 questions will be listed on the board. You will be assigned 2 questions. Write one question and then answer it on the same side of the card. Do the same with another question on the back of the index card. You will then swap cards around the room. (Continue to next slide)

•When I say stop, I will choose 1 student to read the question & answer on their card. •I will guide if the answer is correct or not.
