Problems and Solutions

• There were LOTS of problems with this being “Fair.” Make sure that you come up with at LEAST six and how you could resolve those problems the next time!

Possible Answers:

• Did not start with same volume of water/ PRECISE MEASURING

• Temperature of water not at same to start/ THOROUGHLY HEAT WATER

• Had to take lid off to check temperature/ PUT HOLE IN TOP

• Beaker’s at beginning were not dry/ DRY BEFORE YOU START

• Heat from fingers changed thermometer temp/ WEAR GLOVES OR TAPE UP

• Holes in cup, lining, etc./ TAKE MORE TIME FOR CONSTRUCTION
