1. Your Legal Rights UnderThese Limited Warranties

The warranties contained in this booklet are the onlyexpress warranties that DaimlerChrysler Motors CompanyLLC ("DaimlerChrysler") makes for your vehicle. Thesewarranties give you specific legal rights. You may alsohave other rights that vary from state to state. For example,you may have some implied warranties, depending on thestate where your vehicle was sold or is registered.

These implied warranties are limited, to the extent allowedby law, to the time periods covered by the express writtenwarranties contained in this booklet.

If you use your vehicle primarily for business or commer-cial purposes, then these implied warranties do not applyand DaimlerChrysler completely disclaims them to the extentallowed by law. And the implied warranty of fitness for aparticular purpose does not apply if your vehicle is used forracing, even if the vehicle is equipped for racing.

Some states do not allow limitations on how long animplied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may notapply to you.

1.1 Incidental and ConsequentialDamages Not CoveredYour warranties don’t cover any incidental orconsequential damages connected with your vehicle’sfailure, either while under warranty or afterward.Examples of such damages include:• lost time;• inconvenience;• the loss of the use of your vehicle;• the cost of rental vehicles, gasoline, telephone,

travel, or lodging;• the loss of personal or commercial property; and• the loss of revenue.Some states don’t allow incidental or consequentialdamages to be excluded or limited, so this exclusionmay not apply to you.

2. What's Covered UnderDaimlerChrysler's Warranties

2.1 Basic Limited Warranty

A. Who Is Covered?You are covered by the Basic Limited Warranty ifyou are a purchaser for use of the vehicle.

B. What’s CoveredThe Basic Limited Warranty covers the cost of allparts and labor needed to repair any item on yourtruck when it left the manufacturing plant that isdefective in material, workmanship or factorypreparation. There is no list of covered parts sincethe only exception is tires and Koss headphones.

WHAT'S COVERED UNDERDAIMLERCHRYSLER'S WARRANTIES

You pay nothing for these repairs. These warrantyrepairs or adjustments — including all parts and laborconnected with them — will be made by your dealer atno charge, using new or remanufactured parts.

C. Items Covered by Other WarrantiesThe following are covered by separate warrantiesoffered by their makers. They are not covered by theBasic Limited Warranty:

• tires;• Koss headphones; or• items added or changed after the truck left the

manufacturing plant, such as accessories or protec-tion products, or items changed because ofcustomization or van conversion.

Be sure you get a copy of any warranty that applies tothese items from your dealer, or from the maker of theproduct. You can find the tire and Koss headphonewarranty statements in your Owner’s LiteraturePackage.

D. Towing Costs Are Covered Under CertainCircumstancesThe Basic Limited Warranty covers the cost of towingyour truck to the nearest Chrysler, Dodge or Jeepdealer if your truck can’t be driven because a coveredpart has failed. If you choose to go to another dealer-ship, you will be responsible for the cost if the extradistance exceeds 10 miles. See Section 6.2 for informa-tion on how to get towing service in the United Statesand Canada.

E. When It BeginsThe Basic Limited Warranty begins on either of thefollowing dates, whichever is earlier:

• the date you take delivery of the truck; or• the date when the truck was first put into service —

for example, as a dealer “demo” or as aDaimlerChrysler company truck.

F. When It EndsThe Basic Limited Warranty lasts for 36 months from thedate it begins or for 36,000 miles on the odometer,whichever occurs first. But the following items arecovered only for 12 months or for 12,000 miles on theodometer, whichever occurs first:

• brakes (rotors, pads, linings, and drums);

• wiper blades;• clutch discs or modular clutch assembly (as equipped);• windshield and rear window; and• wheel alignment and wheel balancing

G. Registration and Operation RequirementsThe Basic Limited Warranty covers your truck only if:

• it was built for sale in the U.S.;• it’s registered in the U.S.;• it’s driven mainly in the U.S. or Canada; and• it’s operated and maintained in the manner

described in your Owner’s Manual.

H. If Your Truck Leaves the United States(We Include U.S. Possessions and Territoriesas Part of the United States for WarrantyPurposes):EXCEPT WHERE SPECIFICALLY REQUIREDBY LAW, THERE IS NO WARRANTY COVER-AGE ON THIS TRUCK IF IT IS SOLD IN ORREGISTERED IN COUNTRIES OTHER THANTHE UNITED STATES.

This policy does not apply to trucks that havereceived authorization for export from DaimlerChrysler.Dealers may not give authorization for export. Youshould consult an authorized dealer to determine thistruck's warranty coverage if you have any questions.

This policy does not apply to trucks registered toU.S. government officials or military personnel onassignment outside of the United States.

2.2 Cummins Diesel Engine Limited Warranty

A. Who Is Covered?You are covered by the Cummins Diesel EngineLimited Warranty for up to 5 years or 100,000 mileson the odometer, whichever comes first.

B. What's CoveredIn vehicles equipped with a Cummins DieselEngine, ONLY the following engine parts andcomponents are covered by the Cummins DieselEngine Limited Warranty:

• cylinder block and all internal parts• cylinder head assemblies• core plugs• fuel injection pump & injectors

2.3 Aisin 6 Speed AutomaticTransmission Limited Warranty

A. Who is Covered?You are covered by the Aisin 6 Speed AutomaticTransmission Limited Warranty for up to 3 yearsor 180,000 miles on the odometer, whichever

comes first. This warranty starts when your BasicLimited Warranty begins under 2.1(E).

B. What’s CoveredThis warranty covers the cost of all parts and laborneeded to repair a defective Aisin 6 speed automatictransmission component on your truck listed belowsupplied by DaimlerChrysler Corporation that isdefective in material, workmanship or factorypreparation.

Transmission, torque converter, and transmissioncontrol module.

C. Towing Costs Are CoveredThe Aisin 6 Speed Automatic Transmission LimitedWarranty covers the cost of towing your vehicle to thenearest Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer if your vehiclecan’t be driven because a covered part has failed.

2.4 Corrosion Warranty

A. Who Is Covered?You are covered if you are a purchaser for use ofthe vehicle.

B. What's CoveredThis warranty covers the cost of all parts andlabor needed to repair or replace any sheet metalpanels that get holes from rust or other corrosion.If a hole occurs because of something other thancorrosion, this warranty does not apply. Cosmeticor surface corrosion — resulting, for example, fromstone chips or scratches in the paint — is notcovered. For more details on what isn’t coveredby this warranty, see 3.5.

WHAT'S COVERED UNDERDAIMLERCHRYSLER'S WARRANTIES

C. How Long It LastsThis warranty starts when your Basic LimitedWarranty begins under 2.1(E). This warranty hastwo time-and-mileage limits:

• For sheet metal panels, the limit is 36 months,with no mileage limit.

• For an outer-body sheet metal panel — onethat is finish-painted and that someone cansee when walking around the truck — thelimits are 5 years or 100,000 miles on theodometer, whichever occurs first.

2.5 Restraint System Limited Warranty(Vehicles sold and registered in theState of Kansas only)

For vehicles sold and registered in the State ofKansas, seatbelts and related seatbelt componentsare warranted against defects in workmanship andmaterials for 10 years, regardless of mileage. Thiswarranty does not cover replacement of seatbeltsand related components required as the result ofcollision.

3. What's Not Covered3.1 Modifications Not Covered

A. Some Modifications Don’t Void theWarranties But Aren’t CoveredCertain changes that you might make to your truckdo not, by themselves, void the warranties describedin this booklet. Examples of some of these changesare:

• installing non-DaimlerChrysler MotorsCompany LLC ("DaimlerChrysler") parts,components, or equipment (such as a non-DaimlerChrysler radio or speed control); and

• using special non-DaimlerChrysler materials oradditives.

But your warranties don’t cover any part that was noton your truck when it left the manufacturing plant or isnot certified for use on your truck. Nor do they coverthe costs of any repairs or adjustments that might becaused or needed because of the installation or use ofnon-DaimlerChrysler parts, components, equipment,materials, or additives.

Performance or racing parts are considered to be non-DaimlerChrysler parts. Repairs or adjustments causedby their use are not covered under your warranties.

Examples of the types of alterations not covered are:• installing accessories — except for genuine

DaimlerChrysler / MOPAR accessories installed byan authorized Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer;

• applying rustproofing or other protectionproducts; or

ocean spray, acid rain, and road hazards. Nor do yourwarranties cover damage caused by hailstorms,windstorms, tornadoes, sandstorms, lightning, floods,and earthquakes.

Your warranties do not cover conditions resultingfrom anything impacting the truck. This includescracks and chips in glass, scratches and chips inpainted surfaces, or damage from collision.

3.3 Maintenance Costs Not CoveredYour warranties don’t cover the costs of repairingdamage caused by poor or improper maintenance. Nordo they cover damage caused by the use of contami-nated fuels, or by the use of fuels, oils, lubricants,cleaners or fluids other than those recommended inyour Owner’s Manual.

• using any refrigerant that DaimlerChrysler hasnot approved.

B. Modifications That WILL Void YourWarrantiesThese actions will void your warranties:• disconnecting, tampering with, or altering the

odometer will void your warranties, unless yourrepairing technician follows the legal require-ments for repairing or replacing odometers; or

• attaching any device that disconnects theodometer will also void your warranties.

3.2 Environmental Factors Not CoveredYour warranties don’t cover damage caused byenvironmental factors such as airborne fallout, birddroppings, insect damage, chemicals, tree sap, salt,

The warranties don’t cover the costs of yourtruck’s normal or scheduled maintenance — the partsand services that all trucks routinely need. Some ofthese parts and services, which your warranties don’tcover, include:

• lubrication;• engine tune-ups;• replacing filters, coolant, spark plugs, bulbs, or

fuses (unless those costs result from a coveredrepair);

• cleaning and polishing; and• replacing worn wiper blades, worn brake pads

and linings, or clutch linings.

3.4 Racing Not CoveredYour warranties don’t cover the costs of repairingdamage or conditions caused by racing, nor do theycover the repair of any defects that are found as theresult of participating in a racing event.

3.5 Certain Kinds of Corrosion NotCoveredYour warranties don’t cover the following:

• corrosion caused by accident, damage, abuse,or truck alteration;

• surface corrosion caused by such things asindustrial fallout, sand, salt, hail, and stones;

• corrosion caused by the extensive or abnormaltransport of caustic materials like chemicals,acids, and fertilizers; and

• corrosion of special bodies, body conversions,or equipment that was not on your truck when it leftthe manufacturing plant or was not supplied byDaimlerChrysler.

3.6 Other ExclusionsYour warranties don’t cover the costs of repairingdamage or conditions caused by any of the following:

• fire or accident;• abuse or negligence;• misuse — for example, driving over curbs or

overloading;

• tampering with the emission systems, or witha part that could affect the emission systems;

• use of used parts, even if they were originallysupplied by DaimlerChrysler (however, authorizedDaimlerChrysler / MOPAR remanufactured partsare covered);

• windshield or rear window damage from externalobjects;

• any changes made to your truck that don’tcomply with DaimlerChrysler; or

• using any fluid that doesn't meet the minimumrecommendations in your Owner's Manual.

3.7 Total Loss, Salvage, Junk, or ScrapTrucks Not CoveredA truck has no warranty coverage of any kind if:

• the truck is declared to be a total loss by aninsurance company;

• the truck is rebuilt after being declared to be atotal loss by an insurance company; or

• the truck is issued a certificate of title indicat-ing that it is designated as “salvage,” “junk,”“rebuilt,” “scrap,” or some similar word.

DaimlerChrysler will deny warranty coverage withoutnotice if it learns that a truck is ineligible for coveragefor any of these reasons.

3.8 Restricted WarrantyYour warranties can also be restricted byDaimlerChrysler. DaimlerChrysler may restrict thewarranty on your truck if the truck is not properlymaintained, or if the truck is abused or neglected, andthe abuse or neglect interferes with the properfunctioning of the truck. If the warranty is restricted,coverage may be denied or subject to approval byDaimlerChrysler before covered repairs are performed.

4. Other Terms of YourWarranties

4.1 Exchanged Parts May Be Used inWarranty RepairsIn the interest of customer satisfaction,DaimlerChrysler Motors Company LLC("DaimlerChrysler") may offer exchange service onsome truck parts. This service is intended to reducethe amount of time your truck is not available for youruse because of repairs. Parts used in exchange servicemay be new, remanufactured, reconditioned, orrepaired, depending on the part involved.

All exchange parts that might be used meet Daimler-Chrysler standards, and have the same warranties asnew parts.

OTHER TERMS OF YOUR WARRANTIES

Examples of the kinds of parts that might beserviced in this way are:

• engine assemblies;• transmission assemblies;• instrument cluster assemblies;• radios, tape, CD and DVD players;• speedometers; and• powertrain control modules.

To help control suspected ozone-depleting agents,the EPA requires the capture, purification, and reuseof automotive air-conditioning refrigerant gases. Asa result, a repair to the sealed portion of your air-conditioning system may involve the installation ofpurified reclaimed refrigerant.

4.2 Pre-Delivery ServiceA defect in or damage to the mechanical, electrical,sheet-metal, paint, trim, and other components of yourtruck may have occurred at the factory or while it wasbeing shipped to the dealer.

Such a defect or damage is usually detected andcorrected at the factory. In addition, dealers mustinspect each truck before delivery. They repair anydefects or damage detected before the truck is deliv-ered to you.

4.3 Production ChangesChanges may be made in trucks sold byDaimlerChrysler and its dealers at any time withoutincurring any obligation to make the same or similarchanges on trucks previously built or sold.

4.4 Governing Law and Other TermsAll of the warranties, except for the Federal Emis-sions and noise warranty and the California Emis-sions warranties, are made under Michigan law, andMichigan law will be used to interpret them. Puni-tive, exemplary or multiple damages may not berecovered unless applicable state or local lawprohibits their disclaimer. No person, includingDaimlerChrysler employees or dealers may modify orwaive any part of these warranties.

5. Emission Warranties RequiredBy Law

5.1 Federal Emission Warranty - HeavyDuty Truck

A. Parts Covered for 5 Years or 50,000 MilesGasoline equipped heavy duty trucks are 2500 and3500 models only.

Federal law requires DaimlerChrysler to warrantthe following emissions parts for 5 years or 50,000miles, whichever occurs first.

• Air system controls;• catalytic converter;• distributor and its components;

• electronic fuel injection system, includinginjector;

• evaporative-emission canister and controls;• exhaust manifold;• exhaust gas recirculation valve and control

system;• exhaust pipes (between exhaust manifold and

catalyst);• fuel cap and tank assembly, pump, and fuel

lines;• ignition coil and ignition module;• intake manifold;• on-board diagnostic-system components;• oxygen sensors;• positive crankcase-ventilation (PCV) valve or orifice;• powertrain control module;

• secondary ignition wires;• spark plugs;• throttle body;• transmission-control module;• vacuum hoses, clamps, and fittings, as well as

tubing used for these components;• vacuum, temperature, altitude, speed, time-

sensitive valves, sensors, and switches used in these components and systems.

B. Parts Covered for 5 Years or 100,000 MilesDiesel equipped heavy duty trucks have a separatediesel engine Emission Warranty which covers thefollowing items for 5 years or 100,000 miles. Theselimits are counted from the time when your BasicLimited Warranty begins under 2.1 (E). Thecovered parts are:

• exhaust manifold• fuel injection system• injector• intake manifold, and• turbocharger.

C. Additional Emission WarrantiesIf your truck is equipped with a California CertifiedEmission Control System and is registered inCalifornia, Massachusetts, Maine or Vermont, theCalifornia Emission Warranty — described inSection 5.2 — also applies.

5.2 California Emission Warranty

Medium Duty Trucks Equipped WithGasoline Engines

Your Warranty Rights and Obligations (AppliesOnly to Trucks Certified for Sale and Registered inthe State of California)The California Air Resources Board is pleased to explain theemission control system warranty on your 2007 model truck.In California, new motor trucks must be designed, built andequipped to meet the State's stringent anti-smog standards.DaimlerChrysler Motors Company LLC ("DaimlerChrysler")must warrant the emission control system on your truck forthe periods of time listed below provided there has been noabuse, neglect or improper maintenance of your truck.

EMISSION WARRANTIES REQUIRED BY LAW

Your emission control system may include parts suchas the fuel-injection system, the ignition system, catalyticconverter, and powertrain control module. Also includedmay be hoses, belts, connectors and other emission-relatedassemblies.

Where a warrantable condition exists, DaimlerChrysler willrepair your truck at no cost to you, including diagnosis,parts and labor.

MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE

For 3 years or 50,000 miles, whichever firstoccurs:

1. If your truck fails a Smog Check inspection, all neces-sary repairs and adjustments will be made byDaimlerChrysler to ensure that your truck passes the

Owner's Warranty Responsibilities:

-- As the truck owner, you are responsible for theperformance of the required maintenance listedin your owner's manual. DaimlerChrysler recom-mends that you retain all receipts covering mainte-nance on your truck, but DaimlerChrysler cannotdeny warranty solely for the lack of receipts or foryour failure to ensure the performance of all sched-uled maintenance.

-- You are responsible for presenting your truck to aChrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer as soon as a problemexists. The warranty repairs should be completed ina reasonable amount of time, not to exceed 30 days.

DaimlerChryslerwill repair any of the emission control parts found byDaimlerChrysler to be defective without charge for parts orlabor (including diagnosis which results in determinationthat there has been a failure of a warranted emissioncontrol part).

Emergency RepairsIn the case of an emergency where an authorizedChrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer is not available, repairs maybe performed by any available repair location or by anyindividual using any replacement parts. A part not beingavailable within 30 days or a repair not being completewithin 30 days constitutes an emergency. This warranty covers this vehicle as designed, builtand equipped by DaimlerChrysler Corporation,and is not limited to any particular part, component orsystem of the vehicle manufactured byDaimlerChrysler Corporation. Defects in design,assembly or in any part, component or system of thevehicle as manufactured by DaimlerChrysler Corpora-

tion, which, at the time it left DaimlerChryslerCorporation's control, caused noise emissions to exceedFederal standards, are covered by this warranty for thelife of the vehicle.

C. Tampering with Noise Control SystemProhibitedFederal law prohibits the following acts or the causingthereof:

• the removal or rendering inoperative by any person,other than for purposes of maintenance, repair, orreplacement, of any device or element of designincorporated into any new vehicle for the purpose of

noise control prior to its sale or delivery to theultimate purchaser or while it is in use; or

• the use of the vehicle after such device or elementof design has been removed or rendered inoperativeby any person.

Among those acts presumed to constitute tamperingare the acts listed below:

6. How to Get Warranty Service

6.1 Where to Take Your Truck

A. In the United States (We Include U.S.Possessions and Territories as Part of theUnited States for Warranty Purposes):Warranty service must be done by an authorized Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer. We strongly

recommend that you take your truck to yourSelling Dealer. They know you and your truckbest, and are most concerned that you get promptand high quality service. If you move within theUnited States, warranty service may be requestedfrom any authorized Chrysler, Dodge or Jeepdealer.

B. In Canada and Mexico:If you are traveling temporarily in Canada orMexico, and your truck remains registered in theUnited States, your DaimlerChrysler warranty stillapplies. Service may be requested at any authorizedChrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealership.

C. In a Foreign Country Outside of NorthAmerica:If you are traveling temporarily outside of NorthAmerica, and your truck remains registered in theUnited States:

9.Maintenance

9.1 General InformationIt’s your responsibility to properly maintain andoperate your new truck. Follow the instructions con-tained in the General and Scheduled MaintenanceService guidelines in your Owner’s Manual. Regular,scheduled maintenance is essential to trouble-freeoperation. If there is a dispute between you andDaimlerChrysler Motors Company LLC("DaimlerChrysler") concerning your maintenance ofyour truck, DaimlerChrysler will require you to provideproof that your vehicle was properly maintained.

For your convenience, DaimlerChrysler has pre-pared a Maintenance Log which is included in this book.

You should use this Maintenance Log to keep trackof scheduled maintenance, either by routinely havingthe repairs entered in your Maintenance Log, or bykeeping receipts or other documentation of workyou’ve had done on your truck in your MaintenanceLog.

9.2 Where to Go For MaintenanceDaimlerChrysler recommends that you return to thedealer from whom you bought your truck for allmaintenance service both during and after the warrantyperiods. Although you can get warranty service from anydealer who sells your particular make, returning to yourselling dealer will help ensure that all your service needsare met and that you're completely satisfied.
