Washington’s nickname is The Evergreen State.
The region in the U.S. is the Pacific coast, Northwest.
Its’ capital city is Olympia. Three major cities in Washington are Seattle,
Spokane, and Vancouver. Washington’s population is 6,724,540
people.

Washington’s current governor is Jay Inslee. He is a democrat.
The state senators are Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray. They are both democrats.

Washington’s borders Oregon, Idaho, Canada.
Much of Washington is mountainous.
A plateau named Columbia Plateau covers most of eastern Washington.
Eastern Washington also has dry plains and rolling hills.
Forests cover about half of Washington.

Washington would be good for agriculture. It would be good for agriculture because
there is a lot of cropland. Also, Washington’s farmland covers about a third of its land area.

fur trading post was established near Spokane.
Historical fact 2: In 1855-1858, there were a lot of Native American wars.

The Space Needle is a place to visit. It is 605 ft. tall and there is an observation deck.
Point Defiance Park is another place to visit. It has a zoo, an aquarium, a Japanese Garden, beaches, and hiking trails.

the lowest is sea level. 6: Washington’s state motto is Alki which means “bye and
bye”.
