Looking Ahead
April 13, 2020
• Testing to determine if a patient has the virus is being conducted at thePublic Heath Lab. These tests are “molecular” tests that look for the actual virus.
• Future tests that are “serology” tests will look for the presence of antibodies to COVID-19.
• The Public Heath Lab will have serology testing capability in May.
10
Currently no one knows what the COVID-19 “immune response” looks like. This serology testing will be needed
to determine if patients have developed immunity.
