A Message from Dean Lawlor
We are deeply grateful to Gene and Connie Kahn for their generous commitment to support scholarships at the Brown School.
The cost of education is the most compelling challenge facing the Brown School today. Nearly all of our students in the Master of Social Work and the Master of Public Health degree programs need some form of assistance to attend the Brown School.
We attract talented and committed students from around the world who come to the Brown School to prepare for critical leadership roles in social work, public policy, social services and public health. These women and men have an extraordinary impact on the communities they serve. It is essential that we work together to make the best education affordable, which will allow our students to do the work for which they have trained and feel passionate.
Increasing resources for scholarships is the Brown School’s most urgent priority. Please support the Kahn Family Scholarship Challenge today — your participation is vitally important to the future of our students and our world.
Sincerely,
Edward F. Lawlor

The Kahn Family Scholarship Challenge
Gene and Connie Kahn have generously established a five-year, $250,000 challenge grant to encourage increased scholarship
support at the Brown School. The Kahn Family Scholarship Challenge benefits students in both the Master of Social Work and Master of Public Health programs and supports the goals of Leading Together: The Campaign for Washington University.
Named annual scholarships may be established with gifts of $5,000 or more, which provide support for the current academic year and may be renewed. Scholarships may be named in honor of the donor, a family, a friend or in memory of a loved one.
