‹ FOUR CHAMBER WATER BALLAST HULLThe SEA-ROD range have a unique

four (4) chamber COUNTERBALANCE water ballast system for unrivalled stability at rest. Unlike traditional keel ballasts, the SEA-ROD off centre ballast hull combined with a wide beam and reverse chine hull minimises hull roll or sway from swell and internal boat movement.

Once you are on your way, the 4 chambers rapidly empty, allowing you to get on the plane without any change in performance. The water ballast hull is available in sizes 520 and over.

Formosa Marine CLASSIC models have taken the standard hull design to the next step in innovation by developing not only a COUNTERBALANCE water ballast hull but have also developed a process that makes them available in the CLASSIC 520, 550 and 580 models. This design is unique in aluminium plate boats with plywood floors.

Each boat is fitted with an accompanying heavy duty dive ladder and deck treads on a step down transom design, so entering the boat and accessing the water and motor is a breeze.

The OFFSHORE range is innovatively designed to safely meet the challenging conditions of offshore boating. They have more standard design features including a true Aluminium Self-Draining Deck, a 4mm High Tensile 5083 Grade Aluminium Hull and Hydraulic Steering (sizes 620 and over - 5mm bottom sheets). The Active Transom is available in OFFSHORE sizes 520 to 580.

The CLASSIC range combines the strength, quality and safety of the OFFSHORE plate boat with great value. Installed with Marine Grade Plywood flooring, dipped and carpeted to last. Built with a 5052 High Strength Marine Grade Hull with 4mm sides and bottoms. The 4 Chamber Water Ballast Hull and Active Transom are available in the CLASSIC sizes 520 to 580.

As part of the CLASSIC Range, the BARRA PRO is the ultimate Barra or Bass hunting vessel with raised casting decks forward and rear. These boats are ideal for finding any backwater location. V2 HULLThe latest advancement in hull design, the V2 Hull offers enhanced

performance and strength, while maintaining and taking advantage of Formosa Marine’s acclaimed sharp nose line, deep hull and wide beam. The V2 Hull advances and modernises the boats through the following enhancements:

SHARPER DEADRISE: A sharper, more defined deadrise provides greater trim range, enhanced

tracking, softer ride and a quick response out of the hole.

UNDER FLOOR CELL DESIGN: Increased floor rigidity using an under floor lock cell design, gives the floor more structural reinforcement.

INCREASED STORAGE: Extra side pockets for more storage and additional hull strength.

HULL STRENGTH UPGRADE: From size 455 and over, all Formosa Marine built hulls now feature 4mm sides with no pressings as standard.

TOW-CATCH™Enjoy the benefits of solo deploying and retrieving at the boat ramp. After

working closely with major trailer brands, Redco and Dunbier, the Formosa Marine designed Tow-Catch™ is a hook and eye design welded to the keel, a standard feature that gives you the option to install a quick release boat catch onto a suitable trailer. SEA-ROD DIFFERENCEMake the most of your deck and transom area with the SEA-ROD range.

Depending on the model, the range features a unique folding transom door to extend your fishing platform. Also unique to the SEA-ROD is a folding, recessed lounge option. The lounge can safely seat up to three people and be folded away to optimise valuable deck space.


HEAVY DUTY DIVE LADDERWhether boarding or disembarking, the Formosa Marine designed and manufactured heavy duty aluminium ladder provides total stability underfoot at all times. An internal grab rail, shown to the right of the ladder, is a standard feature on all boats with a transom door.

THE TOP OF THE RANGE SEA-ROD OFFSHORE PROVIDES SELF-DRAINING DECKS WITH SCUPPERS AS A STANDARD FEATURE NOT FOUND ON COMPARABLE BOATS ON THE MARKET. SELF-DRAINING DECKA large drain channel is welded in each corner of the transom.

This true self-draining deck quickly removes excess water from the floor area which may occur when caught in heavy seas or while hosing down the deck. The aluminium deck is carpeted with marine grade quality flooring making it a great non slip surface that is comfortable from the sun’s heat. For peace of mind, the hull is foam filled and an underfloor bilge pump is fitted as a standard feature.

DEEP SIDES, WIDE BEAMA Formosa Marine built hull is renowned for its generous

freeboard height, wide beam and ergonomic layout making you feel like you are in a much larger boat! Combined with the sharper deadrise of the V2 Hull and reverse chine, a Formosa Marine boat gives you more stability and a smoother, drier ride in all boating conditions.

RAISED SHEER & CHINE LINEWith not only a sportier look, the raised sheer line provides protection from large swell keeping a drier deck and also allowing the massive internal space and deeper sides Formosa Marine is known for. The distinctive curved chine line has become Formosa Marine’s ‘hallmark’ well noted on the water.

PLATE BOAT CONSTRUCTIONThe longitudinal stringers and underfloor lock cell frame are welded directly to the bottom sheets. Extra build quality and design features will ensure every Formosa Marine hull has the rigidity to withstand open water conditions and provide many years of trouble free boating.

REVERSE CHINE HULLThe 120mm wide reverse chine combined with a wide beam and the COUNTERBALANCE water ballast hull makes this Formosa Marine built hull one of the most stable hulls at rest or in a rolling sea. The reverse chine and the welded on planning strakes provide excellent tracking performance and a smooth ride in choppy conditions.

FULLY WELDED SIDE DECKSThe side decks and gunwales on a Formosa Marine hull are fully welded and not stitched, offering greater rigidity and strength. The welded side decks are easy to clean and give better paint longevity. You will notice on a Formosa the welding is not sanded smooth and bogged, keeping the full strength you expect with a fully welded plate boat.

QUALITY FLOORINGSEA-ROD OFFSHORE floors are constructed out of 4mm

aluminium and finished off with marine grade carpet. The CLASSIC models have BS1088 Marine Grade plywood pre dipped in an anti-fungal agent and finished off with Marine Grade carpet. All SEA-ROD hulls are constructed from superior materials to ensure performance and longevity.

NEW ALI BOWROLLERDesigned by Formosa Marine for the V2 Hulls, this new aluminium Bowroller has been engineered to suit manual deployment and/or drum winches. It is fully welded to the nose sheet and also welded to the 32mm grab rails for extra strength and a superior design. The Bowroller protrudes sufficiently to allow self-gravity release.

HIGH TENSILE HULLThe exterior hull on an OFFSHORE model is built with

High Tensile 5083 Marine Grade 4mm aluminium sheeting. 5083 Marine Grade Aluminium is known for its exceptional performance in extreme environments. Model sizes 620 and over are built with 5mm bottom sheets as standard.

HYDRAULIC STEERINGSeaStar Solutions® Steering Systems are standard on

the SEA-ROD range. The OFFSHORE models are fitted with the premium SeaStar Hydraulic Steering System. The CLASSIC models are installed with the new high performance XTREME™ Cable Steering System. The Centre Console has a large casting deck, underfloor storage and the option to add additional seating and a folding T-Top making this a popular and versatile model.

Sizes 520 and over have the COUNTERBALANCE water ballast hull for even more stability at rest and the ‘Active Transom’ which gives you the option to design your ultimate water access. The 480 size has the original Formosa Fastback Transom and no water ballast hull due to the small size.

of sizes 620 and over which have 5mm bottom sheets. Standard on the OFFSHORE is an aluminium self-draining deck, folding screen, twin flip seat with large storage box, folding transom door, transom storage hatches, hydraulic steering and more.

The CLASSIC models offer the same quality build and performance as the OFFSHORE with quality BS1088 Marine Grade Plywood floors.

The SEA-ROD Runabout has a raised sheer line, wrap

around screen and seating for five people which makes it ideal for family day trips. The extra wide beam, reverse chine hull, generous freeboard and high sides makes this SEA-ROD a very stable and safe platform particularly when carrying small children.

THE SEA-ROD SIDE CONSOLE HAS THE PERFECT OPEN DESIGN; TEAM IT WITH THE NEW FULL ACCESS ‘ACTIVE TRANSOM’ AND IT’S IDEAL FOR LURE FISHING IN ESTUARIES WITH THE STRENGTH TO GO OFFSHORE.

A side mounted console provides enough room to store equipment and maintain easy driving visibility. The forward casting deck, which can be optioned to your preferred height, provides great storage.

Formosa Marine’s SEA-ROD models, 520 and over, have the COUNTERBALANCE water ballast hull for even more stability at rest and the ‘Active Transom’ gives you the option to design your ultimate water access.

Available in six (6) sizes, the OFFSHORE Side Console has a 4mm High Tensile 5083 plate hull with the exception of sizes 620 and over which have 5mm bottom sheets for even more strength. Standard on

THE SEA-ROD TERRITORY HAS A LARGE FORWARD FISHING PLATFORM AND REAR CENTRE CONSOLE. THIS MODEL HAS BEEN TRIED AND TESTED WITH OUR NORTHERN TERRITORY CUSTOMERS, HENCE THE NAME. DESIGNED TO BE VERSATILE ENOUGH TO TRAVEL DEEP INTO BARRA COUNTRY OR OFFSHORE FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

The driver seat base is mounted behind the helm and features an extra large forward casting deck. The wide beam, high sides and ample underfloor storage was designed for the ultimate stable fishing platform.

Popular optional extras for this model include Kill Tank, Electric Motor Mount, Bait Board with Bait Tank, Rod Holders, Transom Mounted Seat Positions and Aluminium Casting Deck. Visit the website for more.

The OFFSHORE models have a 4mm High Tensile 5083 Aluminium plate hull and 620 sizes and over have 5mm bottoms. Standard with the OFFSHORE are an aluminium self-draining deck, three (3) swivel seats, six (6) seat positions, transom folding door, transom storage with hatches, hydraulic steering and more.

The CLASSIC models offer the same quality build and performance with quality Marine Grade

Plywood flooring, transom storage, three (3) swivel seats (480-2), six (6) seat positions (480-4) and raised casting deck with storage.

The V2 Hull has a sharper deadrise giving a softer ride, an improved trim range and increased performance especially in the turns, extra floor structure for a solid under-footing and side extrusions to hide fuel lines and wires for a clean interior.

Featuring a raised dash and booster seats mounted on pedestal boxes for the ultimate offshore seating position. The innovative Folding Wake/Rocket Launcher has never been seen before on an

aluminium plate boat. Welded for strength and stability, it features a fold down design for storing the boat undercover. Fully welded onto the launcher are three (3) grab rails, four (4) rod holders and a ski/wake pole. The unique ‘knuckle’ design features exposed perforated Aluminium plate on the outside and the inside is a perfect speaker housing.

The cushioned bow seating with storage converts into

the ideal fishing platform by removing the cushions and adding a casting deck centre board (standard) conveniently stowed under the passenger console.

The X Bowrider has SeaStar hydraulic steering and two (2) side folding seats as standard; a practical setup sitting low for safety and allowing seating for up to six. A recessed rear lounge is an option.

The OFFSHORE models have a 4mm High Tensile

5083 Aluminium plate hull (620 has 5mm bottoms). The OFFSHORE is an aluminium self-draining deck, two (2) pedestal sliding seats, transom storage hatches and wrap around screen.

Standard on all boats is the V2 Hull, heavy duty Ali Bowroller, aluminium Dive Ladder and Tow-Catch™ for solo trailer deploy. Choose from a large range of optional extras to build your ultimate X Bowrider.
