Staging
• #1 issue• All incidents begin with staging• Staging does not work without
using the map book
Standard Setup
• First Engine – Proceeds to the scene• First Tanker – Lays in to the attack engine– End of driveway–Hydrant
• Second Engine – Establishes water supply• Second Tanker – Level 1 stage• Third Engine – Locate and establish a fill
site
• Offensive or Defensive• Primary Size-up–Columbia E901 is on the scene of a single
story residential structure, flames showing side 1, E901 is assuming Route J command, all units Level 1 stage and check in on Gold on arrival.

• Secondary Size-up• “Working Fire”–Columbia from Route J Command, 360
complete, working fire side 1 bravo quadrant, this house is on a walkout basement, command post is at E901, we are in the offensive strategy.
