Purpose• Meet state and federal mandates• Monitor trends in district, school, and grade level/course

performance• Measure progress toward college and career readiness• Improve individual student achievement by addressing

deficiencies as early as possible• Identify and enrich individual strengths of students,

including entry into the FOCUS (gifted) program• Incorporate data into Student Learning Objectives (SLOs)• Share results with parents

Importance• All tests must be taken seriously• All directions must be followed• Test security must be adhered to at all times• Test booklets must be completed properly at the

school level• All FERPA (privacy) regulations must be followed

when utilizing student data
