In Basic Watsu®, students learn the opening and introductory moves of Watsu®. Students will learn: - Introduction to the concept of Zen Shiatsu and learning water properties - Techniques on how to stay grounded while floating a receiver in chest level water - How floating someone at the heart draws practitioner as one into a continuum, moving as water, and establish profound stillness - How to control and use the breath to establish connection with receiver (the process of how the receiver can get lighter each time they breath in, together with engagement of practitioner’s own breathing - Establish the rhythm of the Watsu® moves and stretches as an effortless flow Basic Watsu® & Watsu®I 50 hours Course 13 August to 18 August 2018 Watsu®I Course has two parts in the programme that is a combination of Basic Watsu® & Watsu Transition Flow. Watsu®I Course is a first 50 hour module based on the international practitioner certification program. Students successfully completing this course will be able to safely perform a simple 1 hour aquatic bodywork session safely and effectively. Graduates will be able to list themselves in Worldwide Aquatic Bodywork Association Registry (WABR), as a 'Watsu Student’ The 50 hour Watsu® I Course is conducted over six days, between 13th August to 18th August 2018. During the 6-day course, students learn: - Introduction to the concept of Zen Shiatsu and learning water properties - Techniques on how to stay grounded while floating a receiver in chest level water - How to control and use the breath to establish connection with receiver - The Watsu Sequence (Watsu backbone positions & movements) - Establishing water mechanics in bodywork, through utilising water properties - Applying grace within the flow of Watsu movements - Practising bodily communication within a therapeutic context - Applying self-care and safety while supporting and moving others in the water effortlessly - Experiencing being held in water to understand the graceful transitioninto and out of Watsu’s major positions - Maintain the alignment and integrity of both the practitioner’s body and the receiver in your arms Watsu®I Course
