WATTS INDUSTRIES, founded in 1874, had already become the world’s number one producer of valves for the hydrothermal and sanitary sectorby the 1950s. This leadership was due to the quality of the company that was obvious in its organisation, advanced production technologies andhigh standards of product quality.Over the years, WATTS INDUSTRIES has developed its presence in Europe through the acquisition of keycompanies in its sector.In particular, WATTS INDUSTRIES has confirmed its leadership on the ITALIAN market by purchasing INTERMES S.p.A. in 1992: a company set up in 1972 that quickly became one of the most important European figures with overseas branches, a leader in the productionof controls, valves and pipes in PEX for application in the plumbing, sanitary and heating industries.

In March 1999, WATTS INDUSTRIES bought another European company: CAZZANIGA S.p.A., founded in 1927.Right from the start CAZZANIGA had focused its activities on the emerging sector of heating, favoured by thedynamics of the reconstruction of Italy and growing prosperity.

A series of innovations and excellent results saw :

• The introduction over the years of coplanar manifolds (1962),

• Area control and balancing (1972), heat accounting (1979),

• Quick-action solid fittings (1983),

• Computer programs and anti-contamination devices (1987),

• Butterfly valves and ISO 9002 certification (1992),

• The birth of Idronica Line providing support services for customers (1994)

• ISO 9001 certification (1996).

The product range has been extended over the years to satisfy all component needs for heating, sanitary and air conditioning systems. WATTS CAZZANIGA can now boast one of the most complete ranges backed up by three important Italian production poles (WATTS CAZZANIGA,WATTS INTERMES and WATTS LONDA), not to mention the many production sites around the world belonging to Group companies.

In june 2001 WATTS INDUSTRIES bought FIMET S.r.l. : the leader in manufacturing and distribution of instruments for measuring and control,already supplier of Watts Europe. A company set up in 1969 that became one of the most important European manufacturer with a poleproduction in Bulgary.

THE RESULT IS CONSTANT TEMPERATURE AT THE REQUIRED LEVEL IN THEVARIOUS ROOMS, WITH AN ANNUAL ENERGY SAVING UP TO 20%.

The thermostatic radiator valve is the simplest device for automatic roomtemperature control. When the room temperature exceeds the required level, thesensitive element expands thereby determining the shutting-off or appropriatereduction in flow of the hot water supplying the radiator. The heat emitted by theradiator is decreased. When the room temperature drops, the sensitive elementcontracts thus causing an increase in the circulation of hot water. Heat emittedby the radiator is increased.

Install the zone valves accordingto the direction of flow stampedon the body (actuator mounted onthe return pipe side). Avoid installing the actuatorfacing down solely to avoid anydrips caused by leaks or condensates from causing shortcircuits. The zone valve is provided with a manual openingdevice (fig. 1): it is important to switch back toautomatic opening position beforeelectrically actuating the valve.Before removing the head, interrupt the power supply circuit(fig. 2) and wait for the valve toclose (4-5 min.).

INSTALLATION OF QUICK ONE-PIECE FITTINGS RAFIT AND VELOFIT

1 - When cutting the pipe, be careful to deburr the pipe ends if necessary.

2 - Insert the pipe in the fitting pushing it untilbutting against the end stop (Pic. 1), then keep it stillin this position while tightening; hence the seal willbe thrust outwards from the fitting body (Pic. 2).

3 - Approach the fitting to the threaded end pieceuntil the head of the taper ferrule is engaged inside.Then tighten by hand.

4 - Fully tighten with relative wrench (item 829M) inaccordance with recommended tightening torque(Pic. 3).

These conditions of sale and delivery shall be considered as fully accepted when an order is placed with the manufacturer, annul all previousconditions and may be changed by the manufacturer without prior notice. The goods are therefore sold at the prices currently in force at the timeof delivery. The prices quoted are for goods delivered ex works. The goods travel at the customerís own risk and liability, even if delivered freeport. Whilst the manufacturer will follow the customerís specific instructions, he reserves the right to choose the best means of transport. Thesemeans shall be recognised by the customer as being valid and therefore accepted. Delivery, whether whole or partial, of the goods cannot berefused by the customer and implies no right to the cancellation of the order. The manufacturerís items have all been carefully tested before delivery. The manufacturer will accept any returned goods and replace these if theyare found to have construction or material defectives, but may not be held liable for damages. The items are sold with a twelve month warrantyas from the date of delivery against all construction or material defects, but not if they have been tampered with or modified. Within said periodany parts which the manufacturer may consider defective (his decision is final) will be replaced free of charge, but without any claim to damages.The manufacturer reserves the right to make technical changes to the items without prior notice. Any defective goods should be returned to themanufacturer free port and will be either returned after repair or replaced to the given address. This warranty covers each individual part and notthe operation of the system in which they are installed. Natural catastrophe and other causes of force majeure release the manufacturer from any delivery obligations. Any claims or disputes must benotified to the manufacturer via registered post within eight days from delivery. In the event of non payment, the manufacturer reserves the rightto apply interest. All payments must be made to Watts Cazzaniga SpA. Any disputes do not give the customer the right to defer payment of thegoods. In the event of any legal disputes, the only recognised competent court is the Court of Bolzano.
