SmartXide DOT is the only DC-excited CO2 laser that offers modulated superpulse technology known as SmartPulse which allows simultaneous control of both energy (depth) and dwell time (thermal damage). This is a major advance over RF-excited CO2 systems that utilize a continuous or gated emission source that are limited to only energy modulation.

With SmartPulse the user can adjust parameters to tailor the treatment and downtime to the patient's speci�c needs. This new approach to ablative skin resurfacing allows for quicker recovery time and faster treatments.

POWER

Power to tissue, also known as irradiance, is the key to precise, low downtime, low discomfort ablative and full resurfacing procedures. With a high peak power per ablative pulse, the SmartXide DOT offers more power to tissue than other systems.

Older technology gated or chopped continuous wave (CW) lasers pulse their energy by opening and closing a shutter. These lasers are limited in their power by the size of the tube, the gating speed, and the tube recovery time and are only able to modulate the dwell time.

The enhanced superpulse SmartXide DOT laser employs a large DC-excited tube to create an intial high energy pulse some 150 microseconds long for clean, fast, precise ablation. This pulse is followed by a low-energy tail pulse that can be modulated for a precise amount of desired non-ablative thermal delivery.

Ablative depth, dot density, dwell time, scanning mode, shape and size of the treatment area: these are the parameters that can be individually adjusted to precisely tailor each treatment to your patients’ individual needs.

The High Powered SmartXide DOT coupled with a large 15 X 15 mm computer controlled scanner can apply hundreds of DOTs in under a second. With speed like this, you can treat most patients in under 15 minutes time. And that means high patient throughput which means increased pro�ts for your practice. With 38 density settings, SmartXide DOT physicians can offer everything from light ablative treatments to increasingly deeper, more dense, treatments or even full skin resurfacing at a density of 100%, all with the same handpiece. With SmartXide DOT, you can now offer the ideal treatment based on each individual patient’s needs at virtually any density.

SmartPulse Modulated SuperPulse Technology

SmartPulse enables the user to precisely control each energy pulse, making it the ideal device for ablative skin resurfacing treatments. The initial pulse produces the ablative micro-channel and the pulse tail produces the degree of thermal damage. Now with SmartPulse, you can modulate both the high peak power to control depth of ablation, as well as the dwell time for the desired amount of thermal damage. Ablation: The initial high power peak of the superpulse releases a large quantity of energy in a very short time, about 150 microseconds, for clean, quick and precise creation of micro-channels in the skin.

Thermal Effect: After this rapid vaporization, the energy of the pulse is decreased to sub-ablative levels to create a controlled zone of thermal damage, generating immediate tissue shrinkage. This can be adjusted from 200-2000 microseconds.
