The Waves of Creativity Interni Press Office features interior design based on three-dimensionality with a mix of artistic colorful patterns, geometries and furniture, both custom designed and for serial production, with special stripe design and rhomboid-shaped Bolon tile flooring – all designed by Mac Stopa and integrated into the design of the installation, part of Interni’s Energy for Creativity exhibition during Milan Design Week and the opening of EXPO Milano 2015.

About the theme of the exhibition, Mac Stopa said: “Energy for creativity refers to innovation in design, which involves constant experimentation in order to bring new solutions to life. It’s about challenging existing thinking and technology and enriching it with an alternative and often experimental way of developing new designs and products. Driven by passion, sensitivity, and imagination, energy for creativity cures boredom by fueling the need to experiment and find new alternative solutions.”

The Waves of Creativity Interni Press Office integrates visitors in a creative zone where energy for creativity is amplified and visitors are energized by the multiple artistic colorful patterns, geometries and furniture. The interior design conveys the energizing and creative concept of mixing together multiple colors and materials featuring, in collaboration with Bolon, Mac’s tessellating rhomboid floor tiles with parametric pentagonal pattern, whose geometry appears stretched like a wave creating a gentle tonal difference between the right and left sides of the tiles. Rotating the modular rhomboid tiles during installation allows for creating multiple geometrical layouts of the floor.

The Waves of Creativity Press Office consists of two areas: the reception area with linear front desk and the conference/meeting area with modular tables and soft seating pentagonal cushions. In the reception area, the front desk and flooring are finished in stripes of Bolon’s standard collections in an array of colors. The exhibition’s “Energy for Creativity” logo is displayed on the desk’s front panel in a digital mosaic produced by Mosaico Digitale.

Added to the mix is Mac’s vibrant Waves of Creativity graphic applied on the walls (produced by Advertis Group), on the upholstered pentagonal cushions and on the award-winning Pelikan chairs by Mac Stopa and M. Ballendat for Profim (Red Dot Design Award 2015). The white poufs for Tonon introduced as part of this installation and at Tonon’s stand at Salone del Mobile (Hall 5, Stand D03) amaze with their parametric 3D skin. Further exploring the concept of modularity, the shelving system manufactured by TMK Projekt using Saint-Gobain Formula gypsum technology gives the impression of controlled randomness.

The Twist table and vases by Casali with Mac’s Hybrid Collection 3D pattern on glass (Red Dot Design Award 2015, Interior Design Best of Year Award 2014) add more artistic design featuring three-dimensionality to the interiors. Projected on the dome-shaped ceiling near the entrance to the Press Office is the amazing video mapping by The Fake Factory’s Stefano Fomasi. Also included in Stefano’s artistic video display are projections of Mac’s Waves of Creativity graphic, Rhomboids in Flight and River Stones in Space animations.
