THE APOSTLE’S CREED:I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ his only son our Lord who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead; and buried. SAVE THE DATE – OCTOBER 7: On the first Sunday in October, we will kick-off our 3-year capital campaign – Restoration 2021! Additional information is coming on how you can assist with Wayman’s plans for major renovations and improvements, as well as a new community outreach center.
BIBLE STUDY CLASSES will not meet on Oct. 3 and Oct. 10. Classes will resume on Oct. 17.
TUTORING FOR THE 2018-19 school year begins on Wednesday, October 10th, from 4:30 - 6:00 pm. Students in grades K-12 are welcome!

STEWARDSHIP AND FINANCE COMMISSION: Ministry leaders please submit your organization’s 2019 operating budget request to the Stewards’ office by October 21. Budget templates and 2018 financial reports are available in the Stewards’ office upon request. Contact Michelle Meacham if you need assistance preparing the 2019 budget. Thank you.
VOTER REGISTRATION: The Civic Association will be holding voter registration after Sunday Services thru October 01st.
EARLY VOTING STARTS OCTOBER 12TH: If you applied for an absentee ballot they will be mailed to you on October 12th. The ballots must be received by mail or hand delivered to the Board of Elections, 451 W. Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45422 by 7:30pm on Election Day, November 06th, It is suggested you have your ballot to the Board of Elections by October 30th. Please make sure there is enough postage on the ballot.SAVE THE DATE: SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28 Wayman will travel to the Board of Elections as a Church Family for early voting. Transportation will be provided. You can sign up in the month of October.
THE FRANCES TAYLOR WOMEN'S MISSIONARY SOCIETY, in conjunction with Soloved, will be collecting socks until October 1st for the Sock It to Me sock drive. They will be donated to the homeless shelters in the Dayton area. New socks only please, in packages or with tags. All sizes, from infants to adults, any style or color, for males or females. HEALTH CORNERWhat is healthy aging and why is it so important?
No one wants to grow old, but the reality is aging is a part of living. The key to staying healthy and vibrant is to concentrate on healthy aging.
People are living longer these days and are focusing on having a better quality of life as they get older. No longer are the days when the word rocking chair is synonymous with aging. Today, aging is no longer considered a burden. Baby boomers are proud to have reached this extraordinary point in their lives and are finding ways to age gracefully. People are embracing the inevitable and living their best lives through healthy aging.
What is healthy aging?The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Healthy Aging Research Network defines healthy aging as the development and maintenance of optimal physical, mental and social well-being and function in older adults.
Embracing good habits will help you to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Here are 8 tips you can incorporate for healthy aging:
1. Keep God first in your life - prayer helps you stay centered and relieves stress.
2. Live an active lifestyle with regular exercise3. Eat healthy foods4. Continue to stimulate your brain- read a book, do a puzzle5. Cultivate relationships- old and new6. Get regular check ups7. Do what you love- start a new hobby, get a part-time job8. Take walks in nature - get fresh air and sunshine
Often, as we get older, we feel like we are not valuable and have nothing to contribute to society. Know your worth! You may be older, but you still have a part to play. You’re only as old as your mind’s eye, so focus on healthy aging and enjoy your life no matter how old you are.

PAYMENT VOUCHERS: All vouchers must be approved and signed by the Pastor. Reimbursements will not be paid unless the expense has been approved in advance. If you have questions, see Pastor Cooper.
PLEASE PAY YOUR CONFERENCE CLAIMS: Each member is asked to contribute $3/week or $156/year annually to the connectional budget fund. These donations support the general AME Church administration, universities, schools, and medical clinics. Thank you. Bro. Nathaniel Scott.

TRANSPORTATIONPLEASE COME JOIN US FOR SUNDAY SCHOOL: If you need a ride, call Bro. Damon Woods, 937-304-5575 between 9am and 11am on Saturdays to reserve a seat on the church van.
CHURCH VAN PROCEDURES: Van use request forms must be submitted two weeks prior to the date of the event. A minimum of seven people are required in order to use the van/bus and the van can only be used for Wayman Chapel purposes. Donations for use are accepted. All drivers must successfully complete the required Driver Training Program. Anyone interested in being a driver, please contact Bro. Damon Woods at 304-5575.

FACILITYKITCHEN REQUEST FORM: Members must fill out a Kitchen Request Form to use the kitchen. The forms are located outside of the treasurer’s office, bottom slot. Turn in the completed form to the church office and a kitchen committee person will call you. If your organization didn’t receive the Kitchen Guidelines, please see Peggy Wynn. Thank You!
DO NOT bring any FOOD or DRINKS into the sanctuary or overflow rooms. Food and beverages damage the carpet, leave unsightly spots, and ultimately ruin the appearance of our sanctuary. We appreciate your cooperation and together we can keep our church looking beautiful. Wayman Board of Trustees.

TITHING MADE PLAINAccording to God’s word, one tenth (10%) of our increase belongs to God and is holy to God. God’s people are to bring 10% of their income to the Lord’s house. The chart below will help you calculate your tithe for this week based on your weekly income.
