  • VISION The University Student Council envisions a Ways and

    Means Committee that is able to utilize all sources and

    means necessary to generate funds for the easy

    mobilization of the council.

    MISSION To establish a financially stable council To supply and deliver enough funding and resources to all the committees in the council for a smooth flow

    and delivery of projects, services, and campaigns

    To create relevant and innovative income generating projects that will fund not only basic

    projects and services, but also advocacy-oriented

    activities

    To uphold transparency and accountability inside the committee and in the whole USC

    To provide an avenue for the education and training of students in business and marketing

    To strengthen the impact of the council to the student body and the whole UP community through

    quality events and services

  • PLAN OF ACTION Flagship Projects:

    I. Student Entrepreneurial Center (SEC) One of the innovations that we want to establish next

    school year is a Student Entrepreneurial Center (SEC).

    With the completion of the feasibility study of the

    Business Administration Council and the revamping of

    the Vinzons Hall, the USC shall promote student

    entrepreneurship that will serve as a venue for student-

    initiated business ventures and other fund raising

    activities.

    II. Diliman Student Cooperative (DSC) The USC shall spearhead a student cooperative which

    has the students needs as the prime consideration. It will supply affordable basic and specialized materials

    for the everyday lives of an Iskolar ng Bayan.

    III. UP Fair We will further improve the annual UP Fair

    (restructuring the UP Fair Team, brainstorm strategies

    for a more efficient ticket distribution and selling

    system, strengthening the security system during the

    event, etc.). Through this week-long event, we will

    showcase the best of UP and of the country in music

    and performing arts. We will continue to assign a

    specific campaign for each Fair Night in order to boost

    the awareness and involvement of every student.

    Proceeds will go to sectors in UP that need assistance.

  • PLAN OF ACTION Projects under the Director for Marketing:

    I. Company Sponsorships For year-long and major projects of the council Approximated inflow of 500k in cash and ex-deals Procedure: 1. All committees that have projects, services and activities

    that need sponsorship will need to fill up the Marketing

    Request Form (MRF) and submit to the Ways and Means

    Committee. Non-compliance with this step will mean no

    marketing activity for the said project.

    2. For independent committee marketing, the committee

    shall submit a project proposal of the income generating

    activity and the marketing proposal to the Ways and

    Means Committee. All proposals must be approved by

    the Business Manager and forwarded to the

    Chairperson.

    3. All marketing proposals will be signed by the Business

    Manager.

    4. Approved proposals will be released to the respective

    committees; a copy for the Secretariat records and the

    committees own documentation will be provided. 5. All memorandum of agreements and contracts will

    be reviewed and approved by the Business Manager.

    II. Solicitations For year-long and major projects of the council. Approximated inflow of 100k in cash Solicitations will be done to individuals, groups, organizations, etc. that are not business entities.

    Procedure: 1. Solicitation letters will be drafted and must be approved

    by the Business Manager.

    2. Copies will be given to the Secretariat and forwarded to

    the Chairperson.

    3. For independent committee solicitations, the committee

    shall submit its solicitation letter to the Ways and Means

    Committee. All solicitation letters must be approved by

    the Business Manager and forwarded to the

    Chairperson.

  • PLAN OF ACTION Projects under the Director for LogOps:

    I. Council Property Inventory and Assessment (CPIA) The Ways and Means Committee will do an inventory and assessment of the supplies and properties the council has by

    listing down all available materials and all items that needs

    to be purchased for the of the USC.

    The schedule for CPIA is as follows: - Start and end of every semester

    - Start and end of every project and services of the

    council

    II. IskoOps: Iskonek At the start of the year, the Ways and Means Committee will be coordinating with different administration offices and

    colleges as well as the League of College Councils (LCC) to

    assign key locations as centers for relief drop off and

    repackaging of donations in kind.

    We will also be coordinating with the Finance Committee to ensure transparency with bank donations for relief efforts.

    We will also coordinate with other universities to help us in our relief efforts (manpower, resource sharing, etc.).

    III. BCO Dialogue The Ways and Means Committee will conduct a dialogue with the BCO to review with them their guidelines for

    business concessionaires with an end goal of having

    guidelines that are pro to the students and all stakeholders.

    I. Lets Mark-ET! (Marketing Education and Training) The Ways and Means Committee will initiate and conduct a series of marketing seminars and workshops for

    organizations, student councils and other student groups in

    the university. We will tie this up with relevant student

    organizations and/or companies.

    II. USC Marketing Manual The USC Marketing Manual is a detailed marketing 101 manual that contains basic information in the field of

    marketing, the procedures on how to market and an up-to-

    date database of numerous companies that may be

    contacted for sponsorships.
