On Monday, as part of their ‘World Kitchen’ curriculum theme, Year 4 went on a walk around the local area, conducting a survey about the different types of food and world cuisines available in Earlsdon. As you can see from the photographs, the children explored quite a number of different food shops and restaurants and were made to feel very welcome! A Few Good Byes! I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of everybody at Hearsall Community Primary School to say a final special goodbye and thank you to two long-serving members of staff. Mr Rob Herdman has worked as Site services Manager for over 24 years here at Hearsall. He has a fantastic relationship with the parents, children and staff and has gone above and beyond his role in order to do the best for our children. We wish Rob all the best as he retires to spend more time with his family. I would also like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Mark, who has worked as our school crossing patrol for the last ten years. Mark has been a friendly, approachable and reliable member of our team and has manned the crossing in wind, rain or shine! I am delighted that he will continue to work with the school after half term in his new post as Evenings Lettings Manager. Teacher Training Day Just a final reminder that Monday 31 st October is a Teacher Training day. I would also like to take this opportunity once again for making me feel so welcome in my first half term at Hearsall. I hope that you all have an enjoyable half term break and I look forward to seeing the children back in school on Tuesday 1 st November! Reception As you can see from the photographs, our Reception children have had a fantastic first half term and have settled into school life brilliantly. They have been exploring the school grounds looking for signs of autumn.

In the last few weeks, the children have also been experimenting with making, threading, printing and sticking all kinds of repeating patterns. They are very proud of their work!
