MR CUNNINGHAM

We are really pleased that music and art play such a central role in the life of our school. We have numerous concerts throughout the year at our three local churches. ‘Young Voices’ was probably the highlight this year, with 5000 children singing together at the Sheffield Arena.

‘Arts Week’ was an exciting week with lots of creative activities taking place. Children visited the Castle and Lakeside galleries, where they produced work based around some of the paintings and sculptures there. In school there was batik work, some drama and plenty of papier mâché!

Thanks to Mrs Cox for organising such an inspiring week and to all the staff for their enthusiasm. ‘Arts Week’ was followed by our own exhibition and when the school was busy, the atmosphere was lovely and parents made so many positive comments about the work.

“I’ve liked football this year. All the coacheswere good and I had fun playing with all my friends. I love maths; it’s my favourite subject. It challenges me to get it done, but still I love it. Equivalent fractions was the hardest.” Name Withheld

Parents - Thanks for your support!

We encourage competitive sport and had lots

of success this year; our Year 4 Athletics Team

represented Rushcliffe and became County

Champions and our Boys’ team were Rushcliffe

Cup Winners in football. We also had success

in netball, basketball, cricket and tag rugby.

Well done to all those who represented the

school this year. Well done to Paul who

became the sixth winner of our annual Sports

Achievement Award presented by ex Notts

County footballer Gary Lund. Paul is an

excellent sportsman, taking part with

enthusiasm and a high standard of behaviour

and his parents shared the proud moment. He
