WCLJ IndianapolisReport for July 2016
We started off the month a little rough with some wild weather in our neighborhood, but at least the wind left our building still standing. We are building relations with a stucco company in our community so I thought it would be appropriate to share the photo. It is currently being repaired.
I thought it was noteworthy to mention that this month we did shoot a Happy Birthday greeting to the state of Indiana, which was put on the website of the Indiana Bicentennial Commission for which First Lady Karen Pence (pictured above, center), wife of Governor Mike Pence, is the Ambassador.
While I’m on the subject of Joy in Our Town, we did have the police chief of Southport, a community very close to our station, along with the mayor of Southport discussing the subject of safety issues in light of recent activities for the general public and seniors specifically.
We had an especially lively Praise the Lord this month with one of the best musical groups we’ve ever had. Zion’s Joy really was tremendous so maybe you’ll hear them on a Network show down the road.
Also, we did a revival service with a local church, the Upper Room, which was on a Friday night at 7:00 p.m. This was a first for us but was quite a success. The studio was packed with people and everything went extremely well. Several people came forward to receive salvation and many others forprayer to receive healing and various needs.
I was invited to be interviewed on a local radio station to share with the audience about our food and clothing pantry His Hand Extended. I thought it was a great opportunity to share with the community about how we can help people in the area that need this type of assistance and also about how peoplecan donate to help us with donations.
We helped 442 people last month through His Hand Extended.
I was invited to a prayer meeting (above) with about 220 others in advance of Franklin Graham’s Decision America coming to Indianapolis in October. Needless to say, our country is in great need of prayer.
Lastly, we did have several special guests with whom we recorded segments, most of them special music that we use with our Praise the Lord program. However, one of our special guests, Joan Hunter (pictured below), is the daughter of the late Charles and Frances Hunter, healing evangelists who were known around the world as the Happy Hunters. Joan has carried on the wonderful legacy of her parents, traveling and holding meetings during which she preaches, prays for the sick, and gives words of knowledge to individuals.
Our anointed musical guests included Yalonda Johnson, Rashida Johnson, and Percy Pierce.
Finally, two very special guests stopped by my backyard recently, and I just thought I’d share them with you all and say God Bless Everyone!
