Starting Dreamweaver

• Open Macromedia Dreamweaver– Start > All programs > Macromedia >

Macromedia Dreamweaver 8

• Create New > HTML

Design your layout

• Using the Website Design worksheet– Example

• Design your website– Title– Nav Bar– Roll over buttons– Advertising banner– Content

Setting up your table

• You need to use a table to layout your website

• Insert > Table• Choose your rows and columns (use your

plan for this) Mine is 5 rows & 2 columns

Merging your cells

• Now you need to merge your cells so it is the same as your plan.– Select the cells you want to merge–Modify > Table > Merge Cells

(Ctrl+Alt+M)

Exporting your graphics

• Open your navigation bar and 3 rollover buttons in Macromedia Fireworks 8– File > Export– In the HTML box select ‘copy to

clipboard’

Adding your graphics

• Right click and select ‘paste fireworks html’

• Save your website (In your AO6 Folder)– Repeat this for your rollover buttons

Adding your banner

• Select the correct cell• Insert > Media > Flash• Type in ‘advertising banner’

Preview

• Now your website is complete you need to see what it will look like on the Internet

• Press F12 to view in Internet Explorer

• There are 3 different type of print screens you need:–Website in preview (showing that your

graphics work)–Website in design view– Exporting your images (inc exported

images)
