We Believe! Celebrating Successes
April 30, 2010
•That all students can learn.•That every student is entitled to the best possible education in a positive learning environment.
How do we develop a belief statement?
Possible ideas that may have contributed to the belief
statements:
All children can learn. All children deserve a good education. All students should experience a positive learning environment.
Questions to think about:What does your school do for students?
How are teachers prepared to help students?
Why is “TEAM” critical for success?
RoundRobinIndividuals take turns sharing one idea from their section. If the team agrees, it goes in the center, if not, it is not entered in the consensus circle.
Consider the Consensus and build a belief statement for your team.
Belief statements are written on chart paper.
All team members will sign the belief statement.
Belief statements are posted on the wall.

The teacher evaluation post conference is the tool that connects the Teacher Performance Based Accountability to the professional growth within the school.
It is important that evaluators use the post-conference protocol and rubric so that the career teachers have a predictable experience.
Career teachers’ trust of the process will grow as they experience a quality post-conference every time with every evaluator. With that trust, they are more likely to enter into the post conference process open to growth at a meaningful level.
What do you consider when identifying areas of reinforcement and refinement?
The main goal of an evaluation post conference is to provide verbal
feedback and reflection opportunities to the observed teacher that is focused on professional growth for the purpose
of raising student achievement.
How do you make connections for your teachers about the impact post conferences will have on
student achievement?
What is the most important thing you learned in this panel session?
What questions or concerns do you still have?
How do Leadership Teams monitor post conferences?
What advice would you give to leadership team members who are struggling with conducting effective post conferences?
