WE HOPE YOU HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY
HOLIDAY!
- 7 HABITS AT HOME
The Parktone Community has learnt a lot about the 7 Habits and we are
learning how to apply these habits at school and in our daily lives. The ideas
included here are to help your family use these habits at
home.
Start up a ‘15-minute a day program’ where everyone stops
what they are doing and contributes towards completing a
task, such as, cleaning the kitchen, helping in the garden,
washing the dishes, sweeping the floor, cleaning up the
room or any other task that would completed quickly with
combined effort.

LITERACY
Our morning block consists of small reading groups with a
focus on comprehension.
From Term 2 onwards, parents are
welcome to help with reading every
day between 9:10-10:00 am. We really appreciate your
help and the students are looking forward to reading with
you.
Parents are required to have a current Working with Children Check which you can
easily apply for at the post office.
WRITING
Focus: Procedure Students will be writing a detailed sequence of how and when to
do or say something in order to achieve a planned result (recipes,
instructions, manuals, blueprints, rules, handbooks, directions,
laws).
A Procedure includes an aim, materials required, the method and
the outcome.
MATHS
Focus: Number – Subtraction Students will be representing and solving simple subtraction problems
by using a range of strategies. We will particularly be using materials
such as counters to help understand the concept.
