IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH
For the time being, at the 8am Mass Monday thru Friday, Fr. Jay and Fr. Mi-
chael are each saying Mass to fulfill both the 7am and 9am intentions, even
though they’re at the same Mass. At Saturday’s 8am Mass, one priest will say
the 9am Mass intention, while the other will say Mass for the Saturday evening
5:30pm intention. The 4:30pm Vigil Mass is said for the intention of what was
the Sunday, 7:30am Mass. The 8am Sunday Mass is said for the 9am inten-
tion. The 10am Mass is said for the 10:30am intention, and the Noon Mass
intention remains unchanged. Yes, it’s confusing to read this, but rest assured
that every mass intention previously arranged for is being fulfilled. Thank you
in advance for your understanding during these uncertain times.

weekend Masses and we can hand out individual copies. Or, if
you'd like, call the parish office and arrange to stop by the office

pain of having your parents split up, and will hear from fellow
adult children of divorce or separation on dealing with anger, anx-
iety, family boundaries, forgiveness, and more. You are not alone!

parishioners. During this state of emergency it is very helpful
to be able to rely on your continued support even when you
cannot personally attend Mass.

charist is in the Tabernacle. You can dedicate the Sanctuary
Light in memory of a loved one or for a special intention for one
week. The name will be published in the bulletin each week.

Church? Do you have a non-Catholic family member or friend
who would like to know more about the Catholic faith? Were you
baptized but did not receive First Communion or Confirmation?
Have you or someone you know been away from the Church and
want to come back, but are not sure how? The Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is for anyone who wants to become
members of the Catholic Church, finish receiving their Sacra-
ments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and/or First Holy
Communion), or just wants to learn more about the Church before
making any decisions. If you or someone you know would like to
learn more about our RCIA formation process, contact Deacon

devices for several families that are in need of additional devices.

WE PRAY FOR ALL THOSE WHO WORK AND LIVE FROM THE SEA,
WHAT’S IN A NAME CAMPAIGN
Immaculate Conception School is inviting the community to
acquire naming rights. At ICS, we continue to focus efforts on
instructional initiatives to grow student achievement and prepare
our students for a successful future. We are extending an invita-
tion to the school, parish and community at large to participate in
acquiring naming rights to all classrooms in the Early Education
Building, the classrooms within the school, the Science Lab, the
Art Room, etc. When donating toward this campaign, your or-
ganization’s name, a family name or a Saint name will be honored
or memorialized in a way that anyone who passes through our
halls will be reminded of those who have invested in their educa-
tion. Great things are happening at Immaculate Conception
School and your support will enable us to continue impacting the
lives of all those who cross our threshold. Your generosity and
support will ensure the future growth of our children, our beloved
school and the students of our PREP Program. Please contact
Laura Vitelli, 908-735-7319 or via email at
TUITION ANGEL
What is a Tuition Angel? We at Immaculate Conception
School are proud of the quality education we offer to our families.
In order to fulfill our mission by fostering in each child, Spiritual
Growth, Academic Excellence, and Moral Integrity, we must
properly fund our school.
We invite you to join us in prayerfully becoming an Immacu-
late Conception School Tuition Angel. Your support will make a
tremendous impact on the lives of students for generations to
come. We have been blessed over the years at ICS by people who
value a Catholic education and want to help provide for those less
fortunate. We have some “angels” who donate funding toward
tuition for ICS students. The Tuition Angel Fund is an ongoing
program where families in need are helped as situations arise. If
you are interested in contributing to this fund, please contact
Laura Vitelli, Director of Advancement, 908-735-7319, or via
email at [email protected]. Gifts are tax-deductible to the
extent provided by law.
MATCHING GIFTS
There are many companies that offer current and retired em-
ployees an opportunity to match their contributions to their favor-
ite charities. Please check with your Human Resource Depart-
ment as to whether they will support Immaculate Conception
School when making your donation. Your company may also
allow your spouse to make a contribution which can be matched.
Please take the time to potentially double your gift! Please contact
Laura Vitelli, Pastoral Associate for the Parish and School Ad-
vancement. At (908)-735-7319 or [email protected]

BE A SCOUT
Scouting is a great pandemic program for youth aged 5 to
17. Each grade level/rank comes with a workbook/chapters that
outline multiple activities with plenty of resources both within the
book and on the internet to consult. Volunteers lead grade levels
individually thru the fifth grade and thereafter youth leadership
assisted by adults direct activities. Adult volunteers are assisted
by online and in-person training as well as a wealth of 110 years
of scouting experience. Check out our local programs thru
BEASCOUT.org. And don't forget the best part of scouting is 3/4
outing.
Religious Activities for Catholic Scouts and all parish youth can
be found at the National Catholic Committee on Scouting website
where a wealth of patch programs introduce the rosary, American
Saints, role models and Marian devotions - https://www.nccs-
bsa.org/index.php/religious-activities.
Girl Scouts and all parish youth are directed to companion Reli-
gious Recognition programs offered thru the National Federation
of Catholic Youth Ministry - https://nfcym.org/programs/nccgscf/

THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on Sundays, 1:15 pm
A Preparation Session for the persons (Godparents invited) takes
place prior to Baptism and is held on the First Friday of each
month at 7:30 pm. A Catholic Godparent must be a practicing
Catholic, i.e. one who is free to receive the Sacraments in the
Catholic Church, who has been Confirmed and can receive a
“Letter of Good Standing” from their parish. One Godparent
could be a baptized Christian (not baptized in the Catholic
Church). That Godparent will be noted in the Church record as a
Christian Witness. Contact the Parish Office at 735-7319 for all
arrangements and before the selection of Godparents.
THE SACRAMENT OF PENANCE
The Sacrament of Penance is available every Saturday, except
Holy Saturday, from 11:30 am-12:00 nn and from 3:30 - 4:00 pm.
THE SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE
The Common Policy for the Diocese of New Jersey requires a
period of preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage, which in-
cludes sessions with the parish priest or deacon and participation
in either the Pre-Cana Conference or the Engaged Encounter
Weekend. Therefore, arrangements with the Parish Office should
be made up to one year in advance, and before any social plans
are finalized.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK
Arrangements for pastoral visitation and Holy Communion to
the sick and infirmed at home can be made by contacting the Par-
ish Office. Catholic Charities are assigned by the Diocese of
Metuchen for patients in our area hospitals. Our Parish is respon-
sible for Rolling Hills Nursing Care Facility. Emergency sick
calls anytime.

“YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE”!
Our parish will be offering in-person bible studies this Fall. The
classes will be held in the parish hall following “social distance”
guidelines. The Jeff Cavins course on the book of “Acts” will be
held weekly on Monday nights beginning in early October for 20
weeks. The Jeff Cavins course “The Bible Timeline” will be held
weekly on Tuesday nights beginning in late September for 24
weeks. “Acts” is a Catholic bible study of how a few Christians
empowered by the Holy Spirit were chosen to bring Christ and
the Good News to the ends of the earth. “The Bible Timeline” is
a Catholic bible study that can help anyone to make sense of the
Bible and experience the life-changing power of God’s Word. If
you are interested in either of these bible studies, please contact
Larry Meo at 908-303-8743 or [email protected].
