school of your child’s condition if they continue to be absent from school for more than two days. It is expected

that if your child is ill longer than two days, you would seek medical attention and therefore be able to provide

medical evidence eg. a doctor’s appointment slip.

Y1 VISIT TO BOTANICAL GARDENS

Year 1 had a fantastic time last Friday at

the Botanical Gardens. They saw and drew

lots of tropical plants and lots of different

colours on a walk. The children were a

credit to the school and had lots of fun.

Y5 AND Y6 HANDBALL TOURNAMENT

Last Friday, the Year 5/6 handball team

took part in the Birmingham School Games

Finals. After many hard fought games,

they missed out on the top four places.

However, they are one of the top eleven

teams in Birmingham. Well done!

Wishing all our Y6 leavers good luck for their next chapter to secondary school.

We will miss you all. Hopefully you have enjoyed your time at St. Jude’s and

learnt may things—most importantly, how to be good, kind, honest people. It has

honestly been a privilege to watch you grow and develop in to a Year Six class

that we are very proud of.

There have been many memories made in your time here and some very special

ones this week.

It’s hard to believe that, after nineteen years working at St. Jude’s, our lovely Office

Manager, Mrs Russell, is retiring. We would like to thank her for her unwavering

commitment to the school and her never-ending patience and hard work. Most of all,

we would like to thank her for her kindness and friendship to so many of us over the

years. We are going to miss her greatly but equally wish her the very happiest time

ahead as she takes the next step on her journey. We held a prayer service in school

for her today which was attended by her family members and Father Philip who gave

her a special blessing.
