Theme: Jesus, our cornerstone
Breaking Open the Word :Suggested text faith sharing.
Gospel Jn 14:1-12
Jesus said to his disciples: "Do not let your hearts be
troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In
my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If
there were not, would I have told you that I am going to
prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place
for you, I will come back again and take you to myself,
so that where I am you also may be. Where I am going
you know the way." Thomas said to him, "Master, we do
not know where you are going; how can we know the
way?" Jesus said to him, I am the way and the truth and
the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
If you know me, then you will also know my Father.
From now on you do know him and have seen him."
Philip said to him, "Master, show us the Father, and that
will be enough for us." Jesus said to him, "Have I been
with you for so long a time and you still do not know me,
Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.
How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Do you not be-
lieve that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?
The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own.
The Father who dwells in me is doing his works.
Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in
me, or else, believe because of the works themselves.
Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do
the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these,
because I am going to the Father."
Step One: Listen to the Word In this lovely reading from John’s Gospel, what phrases
or words or images catch your ear? What promise of
Christ do you hear most clearly?
Step Two: Look into Your Life Question for Children: What are some ways that you
can act like Jesus would if he were in your situation?
Question for Youth: Jesus is “the way, the truth, the
life” and he asks us to do as he does. How do you try to
follow Jesus’ way?
Question for Adults: How are the promises of this Gos-
pel passage made real in your own life? How do you ex-
perience yourself doing greater works than even Jesus
did?
FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
John 10:1-10
Christus Surrexit, Sicut Dix-
it,Alleluia! Christ Is Risen As
He Said! Alleluia!
THE FIFTY DAYS OF EASTER
On this 4th Sunday of Easter, our
theme is entitled Good Shepherd Sunday.
We usually hear from John’s Gospel Chap-
ter 10. When we look at sheep, we know
that their character can never be on the right
track unless they listen and follow the shep-
herd. Sheep have no natural sense of direc-
tion, they do not seem to know which way
to go to live, they are incapable of caring
for themselves on their own. They are weak
animals. That is until they have a good
shepherd to guide them.
Jesus, by referring to himself as the
Good Shepherd, wants to teach us that with-
out him we too are weak and can be quite
helpless. Like a Good Shepherd, Jesus is
there to go to any lengths to guide and save
us. In the Middle East and here where
sheep graze, the shepherd does the same.
Jesus as the good Shepherd leads,
protects and guides us to the safest pastures
of life. The question becomes, do we listen
to His voice or are we caught up with other
voices that direct us on another path that
eventually hurt us and others. Our role is to
serve the God we know and know the God
we serve. Let us pray that we may be ena-
bled to hear Jesus telling us “ I am the
Door. Whoever enters through me will be
saved.”
Pray for all our First Holy Communi-
cants who are preparing to receive the Lord
Jesus for the first time. We had our First
Holy Communion on Saturday, April 29th
with 21 children and again this Saturday,
May 6th with 21 children. May this time
remind us of the importance of the Eucharist
and how as St. Augustine writes we are to
“become what you receive.” The purpose
of receiving Holy Communion in the Eu-
charist is to become who we receive, to be-
come Jesus.
Pray to Our Lady of Fatima as we
celebrate the 100th Anniversary when Mary
our Mother appeared to the three young
children and changed the world!
HAVE A HAPPY AND BLESSED
EASTER SEASON!
Fr. Jim , Pastor
Please note that on Monday, May 29th
there will be only one Mass at 8:30am.

NECESITAMOS VOLUNTARIOS PARA LIMPIAR EL TEMPLO DESPUES DE LAS
MISAS
to.
