Spring is starting to change to summertime vibes and we hope that one day soon we can open our doors for everyone to join us for a nice cold beverage! Woohoo!!! Until then, we hope that you continue to stay safe and healthy. As you should know by now, the Phoenix Club has its own Instagram account @auroraphoenixclub and we thought it was time for a little challenge. The theme is “Mother’s Day”. We want to see your favorite “Momisms”, be creative with your own DIY project that will make your mom proud to hang it on her fridge or share a photo of how you are celebrating your MOM on her special day. All photos must be posted by 5pm on Sunday, May 10th. Wishing all of our MOMS a very Happy Mother’s Day! We have had plenty of time to plan our sum- mer time events and we are looking forward to getting them on the calendar and having a little fun with all of our members... when the time comes we will definitely share the exact dates. So look out for these upcoming events… Family Bingo, Trivia, Line Dancing, Outdoor Bowling, Dinner Specials, Bags Tournament and more. For now, we wanted you to be able to have a little family fun at home, so inside this edition, you will find a couple of trivia games to play on your own or with your family…so please enjoy! If you have some event / activity ideas and would like to volunteer so that you can help bring them to life, please place your ideas in the Suggestion Box at the club and when we open with your name and membership #, so we can contact you, set a date and start planning your event. Don’t forget, when our doors open once again, we will be looking for more volunteers to sign up for our Membership and or Social Events com- mittees…the sign up sheets are on the infor- mation board at the club. As a reminder the correct Facebook page is the white “515” photo. https:// www.facebook.com/theauroraphoenixclub/ We share all of our upcoming events on this page, so please Like Us. We are trying a Friday Night Fish Fry phone order and pick up on Fridays through the month of May-see inside newsletter for details) The menu is condensed but we are trying this out in baby steps. We will have small crews working in the kitchen on Fridays wearing masks and gloves. I have outdoor bowling schedules for both the Men’s and Ladies league and look forward to having a starting date to pass along to everyone. We are still making plans to have our picnic on June 28th; that would be a great way to celebrate the end of quarantine. For all of our efforts we can only hope that normal will find us soon. A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by the Versiti Blood Bank Center and asked to host another blood drive. Obviously they are in great need right now. However, being that the club is closed and there are limited ways of notifying our members who donate regularly I am hoping that members willing to donate will contact the center closest to them. I’m certain they would be happy to hear from you. Another thing to mention here, we do have an end plan for our Easter Egg Drawing (that we started back in February). Well we have prizes to give away. What we will do, when reopening, is have a couple of days to sell as many of the eggs as we can. This way more people get to sign their raffle tickets and get a better chance to will from the list of prizes. The following Sat- urday after we reopen we will draw for winners to those prizes and officially end the game for this year. In the mean time stay safe and always keep your sunny side up. Most Sincerely, Timmy White Club President
