My Target audience:

The target audience for my posters will be from young teenagers to adults due to the fact that my fonts that i have chosen are not very effective on children and can be considered boring for them.

SERIF:

Serif should definitely be used in posters, because the type of font is really easy to read and prints out very well. It is well created and the small details make it easier to read. The little hooks at the ends of the letters on the fonts create more of a formal and fancy look and it makes it easier to read from further distances. An example of a serif font is Times New Roman, an easily read and well known font.

Ex: (Times new roman) Aa Bb Cc Dd Ee Ff Gg Hh Ii Jj Kk Ll Mm Nn Oo Pp Qq Rr Ss Tt Uu Vv Ww Xx Yy Zz

Sans Serif:

Sans serif was originally developed for use in headlines or titles, and they are less formal than serif. There are four different typeface groups in sans serif that include fonts in them. These groups are called Grotesque, Transitional, Geometric, and Humanist. The most commonly used ones are transitional that include Arial, Helvetica, and Univers. The open faced font (sans serif) is better to be used on any electronics than serif because it is easily read on them, and the serif is better and easier to read when printed. In my opinion sans serif would be better used in a bunch of text than in titles because it is not very formal.

Ex: (Arial) Aa Bb Cc Dd Ee Ff Gg Hh Ii Jj Kk Ll Mm Nn Oo Pp Qq Rr Ss Tt Uu Vv Ww Xx Yy Zz

Cursive/script:

In the 18th century, almost everything was used with script fonts including things like business letters. Nowadays, script fonts are best suited for greeting cards and wedding invitations. Script fonts look best when they are paired with non script fonts because it pops and it shows off a fancy look, which people would be most likely interested to read. The best cursive fonts are Gravura and Edwardian script. The best thing is to use only one on a poster, more than one cursive font will not look good.

Ex: (Lobster) Aa Bb Cc Dd Ee Ff Gg Hh Ii Jj Kk Ll Mm Nn Oo Pp Qq Rr Ss Tt Uu Vv Ww Xx Yy Zz

Decorative display:

Decorative typeface is generally used in headings, titles of books, or initials. Decorative typeface is used a lot in advertisements and posters. This typeface has a lot of different creative fonts that pop out and catch the reader's attention. This is why it is used so often and it is a key component to an advertisement, poster, or whatever you are trying to show off.Ex:

Using more than one font:

Using more than one font can be good and bad, but it all depends. Using more than one font can be good to bring a bit more excitement to the poster, if you use one font people will be too lazy too read because it just looks boring. But at the same time, you have to be careful for what font you are using because if you add more than one font like two types of script fonts, it will look ugly. I think using more than one font is the best choice and it will bring a lot of attention to the readers, you just have to be careful.

Conclusion:

The fonts that i will be using are Times New Roman, different types of Helvetica, arial, Edwardian script, freckle face (display) and boogaloo. These to me are the best looking fonts and they are all easy to read, and they are also going to fit well in my posters.
