SENSE POEM ASSIGNMENTOBJECTIVES: For students to show their understanding of various poetic devices while practicing creative writing skills through the composition of a sensory themed poem.

CRITERIA & RECOMMENDATIONS:

Use at least three out of the five senses and write a minimum of six lines in any style that you wish. Your poem can rhyme, or not rhyme.

Include at least one simile or one metaphor. The effective and consistent use of devices such as rhyme, rhythm,

repetition will enhance your poem. Make your theme evident and clear! Strive to show originality and imagination, and style! The stronger your grammar, spelling and mechanics, the more effective

PRESENTATION OF ASSIGNMENT Preferably typed (minimum 12 sized font). Flexibility is granted for font

size and style as this is a creative assignment. Include one picture or image to go with your poem (It can be hand drawn
