Bro. Juniper’s Corner Story of the Spiritual Assistant Program

About perhaps four years ago an idea began to be formed and a group of the St. Joan of Arc region members agreed to come together to see if they,

with the help of the Holy Spirt put some flesh on it.After, perhaps a year or so of almost monthly meetings, attending a workshop to acquire some insight how other Regions dealt with this new idea, a little over two years or so permission was granted to set up a Spiritual Assistant Program. The program intention was to train members of the Region who wanted to deepen their spiritual life and if they discerned God's will to continue, they might become certified Spiritual Assistants, which as is well known that the region is in very short supply.On November 3rd this year 2018, after two years of study, discussions, changes, adjustments and plain hard work sacrifice the Seven members of our Region who began this course have completed it. They are to be congratulated not only for the work in putting it together but for taking it as well and finishing it. They had as well other servant leadership roles to perform for the Region, yet they sacrificed that this program might provide some needed good for our Region.

God Qualifies those whom He calls and these Brothers and sister of our Region, need our prayers very much, so that they may go on to become Spiritual Assistants.

They are Elizabeth Killeen OFS, Susan Bosche OFS, Pat C Palmer OFS, Tom Ha OFS, PAUL Stranahan OFS, Cherryle Fruge OFS, Patsy Burgess OFS.
