180th Millhouses Scouts - Summer Camp to Guernsey 2018

9 days away - packed with action, fun and adventure

Flying there from East Midlands airport and back again

Camping at the Scout Campsite Les Maingys on the north of the island www.lesmaingys.co.uk

Approximate dates 15th to 23rd August 2018(depending on the cheapest flights)

Guernsey is only 12 miles long by 5 miles wide, so it is a very small island and it is surrounded by many fantastic beaches - see www.visitguernsey.com for more details.

As well as many days at the various beaches we are planning the following; a day out to Sark a nearby island where we will hire bikes, Coasterring, Paddle boarding, day hike, visit

to a German fortification and the German underground hospital ( did you know that the channel islands were the only part of the UK that was occupied by the Germans during the 2nd world war ?), many other days outs and visits and loads of free time in St. Peterport the

main town.... all adding up to loads of fun and a great experience.

It should be the aim of every Scout to come on Summer Camp, as it is the highlight of the year and everything we do works towards this fun and exciting camp / holiday !.

We are waiting for the flights to come out to actually be able to work out the exact price, but with some fund raising and help from the Group we are looking to charge between £300 and

£350.

I will confirm the costs when the flights come out at the end of October (updated date)
