Beloved Support Team, September 2019 Faith comes by hearing And hearing by the Word of Christ. “When I heard our son say that he had invited you to come to our home to teach the Bible I got so angry. I did not want you to come. I called Wandry and told him to tell you to go to his house. But when you arrived, your soft tone of voice and the words of the hymn calling the weary and the oppressed to hope in the Lord Jesus broke my hard heart. Now I am so glad you came and want you to come back. When you arrived I was weary and oppressed but the Word of God has lifted my load.” Wandry’s mother said this to us after Bruce had finished teaching Acts 10-11, a story about a Roman centurion, a devout, God-fearing man, charitable and who prayed regularly yet the Angel of God said he wasn’t saved. He needed to hear words by which he would be saved. For Wandry’s family, Bruce read those words of salvation spoken by Peter “the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, He is Lord of all…God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and power. He went around doing good …They killed Him by hanging Him on a tree, but God raised Him up on the third day…He is the one appointed by God as judge of the living and the dead…everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.” We praise God for newly married Wandry and his wife Carol and their desire to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to their unsaved friends whom they bring to our house church meetings. Wandry’s parents are depressed because his father is unemployed. Wandry leaves for work 3 A.M. and arrives home

Faith comes by hearing

And hearing by the Word of Christ.

When you arrived I was weary and oppressed but the Word of God has lifted my load.”

Wandry’s mother said this to us after Bruce had finished teaching Acts 10-11, a story about a Roman centurion, a devout, God-fearing man, charitable and who prayed regularly yet the Angel of God said he wasn’t saved. He needed to hear words by which he would be saved. For Wandry’s family, Bruce read those words of salvation spoken by Peter “the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, He is Lord of all…God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and power. He went around doing good …They killed Him by hanging Him on a tree, but God raised Him up on the third day…He is the one appointed by God as judge of the living and the dead…everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.”

We praise God for newly married Wandry and his wife Carol and their desire to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to their unsaved friends whom they bring to our house church meetings. Wandry’s parents are depressed because his father is unemployed. Wandry leaves for work 3 A.M. and arrives home exhausted at 4:30 P.M. not only to provide for his wife but also for his parent’s physical needs. Most of all Wandry prays for their spiritual need. That’s why he invited us to weekly study the Bible in his parent’s home.

The saying, “Health is everything!” is a favorite phrase with many Brazilians. This week Bruce read Mark 2:1-12 to Wandry’s family. Jesus said there is something more important than health. What is it? The first thing Jesus did for the paralytic was forgive His sins. The people watching thought, “Who can forgive sins but God!” Jesus shows He is God by knowing what they are thinking and healing the paralytic. Pray that his parents and sister, Diana, would confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
