Throughout my tenure as pastor I have had people ask me the following question: Do I have a __________ gift? To which I always responded, Yes, you have a Spiritual gift.

Our Scripture: Romans 12:1-8

Have you ever received a gift with _________? You know, perhaps steps you needed to take before you used the gift?

I. A _____________ life – Romans 12:1

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Do you see the word “present” here in this verse? This verb in the Greek means: ______ and for all. 1

The gifts that we are going to consider requires a _______ that is totally surrendered to God. These gifts are useless unless one has given their _____ life to God.

The character of a living sacrifice:

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

We are not to be ________ to this world. This means that we are not to take on our ______, but to be separate from our culture.

The J.B. Phillips translation reads, “Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mold.”

For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

The word “soberly” can also be translated, to be right minded, or to be sound minded. It means that we begin to think clearly about ourselves.
