As well as completing a daily Maths, English, Spelling and Reading task, we have put together a selection of different topic activities for you to complete at your leisure. We realise this is a busy time and so most of these do not require written work but instead some discussion and interaction.

Let’s Get Physical!(PE)

Get somebody in your household to time how long you can dribble

a ball (keep boucing) whist moving. Can you beat your time?

To dribble a ball whilst moving within a game.

Let’s Explore!(Geography)

On going project. Research the formation and features of a mountain. Create a model using whatever medium you would like. Make sure you keep safe and ask an adult before handling anything sharp!

To describe and understand key aspects of physical geography including mountains.

Let’s Investigate!(Science)

Solubility happens when something mixes with water to make a see-through liquid. It looks like the substance has disappeared. This is called dissolving.

Investigate what substances will dissolve in water. You will need half a cup of water and a small amount of each substance you are testing. You could use sugar, salt, flour, pepper, oil, vinegar, coffee or jelly. Show your results in a table.

To compare and group together everyday materials on their solubility.

Maths Challenge!

Have a go at the challenges below.

Let’s Design!( Art)

Look at the work of Eric Joyner. Can you recreate any of his pieces?

https://ericjoyner.com/gallery-for-artist-eric-joyner-painter-of-robot-and-donuts-artwork/

To research and discuss the ideas and approaches of an artist.

Let’s Make!(DT)

Gather recycled items around your house and see if you can design something with them. For example, you could try and design an animal, or

a toy.

To make a sustainable product use natural materials and materials that can be recycled.

A diary is a written record of how someone feels on a daily basis. It includes their events, feelings and experiences.

It is written in the first person, the writer is writing about themselves.

It is written in the past tense, it has already happened.

Plan Date including which day of the week: What happened? How did you feel? (describe your emotions): Did you feel the same way all day? When did your feelings change and what made you change the way you felt? If this were to happen again what would you do differently? What did you learn from today's experience? Try and think of how you could use modal verbs and adverbs of possibility in your diary.

Key features of a recount

Introductory paragraph briefly covering who, what, where and when about the event. First person (I)

Past tense

Specific places, people and things described.

Time conjunctions and adverbials to help with time order e.g. next, a short while later…Personal recount uses stronger language, including description of emotions.Extra details about how and why the event happened in the main paragraphs.
