Mark making: You might like to draw some of the animals and birds you met in the story. You could hide them around your house and go on a hunt for Mondi.
Listening/Talking: Can you tell someone in your family what happened in the story? Could you use your drawings to help you retell the story?(What happened at the beginning of the story? What did Handa do next? How did the story end?)

Handa found lots of different animals on her journey and counted from 1 – 10. Can you go on a number hunt around your house and find things to put in your number collections?Maybe you could try: 1 Jumper 2 socks 3 cups 4 pencils 5 spoons
Can you find enough things to go all the way to 10?
Maybe a grown up could take a photo of your number collections and send them to us so we can share them with your nursery [email protected]

Be Helpful: This week you can try to help around the house. Can you make your bed every day? Can you tidy away your toys? Can you put your shoes away? See how quickly you can get your jobs done. Maybe you can get an adult to time you.

Try to make your own chick. You could draw and colour it, or if you have paints, you could use a fork to make fluffy feathers.
RampsLet’s investigate! Can you find a long strip of cardboard (maybe in the recycling box) and lay it against a chair or couch to make a ramp? You might want to draw lines down the middle like a road.
Roll a car or any small toy with wheels down the ramp. What happens? How can you make it go farther? What if you make the ramp steeper? (put a book or lego brick underneath it) Now what happens? Try changing the height of your ramp and describe what you discover to your family.
