We hope you are well and staying safe and healthy. This week we are celebrating the Week of the Child! We love all our children and we celebrate everything that makes them unique and wonderful! We will celebrate with a spirit week starting April 27th. Dress up and share your pictures with us!

During this week, we will also talk about plants. Please continue to share 1 picture of 1 activity that you chose to do with your child. You can share with us on the Remind app or our email addresses, lgonzalez7@cps.edu or epzavala@cps.edu. We will begin the new schedule for our video chat meetings using zoom. Starting this week we will meet with all our students on Monday and Friday and with a small group of students Tuesday and Thursday (refer to the schedule below). You will receive a separate message with the small group information via remind. We enjoyed our meetings last week and are looking forward to seeing all of the children again!

The speech therapist (Ms. Diaz) and occupational therapist (Mrs. Gomez) have provided the following activities below. Feel free to complete one, two, or all of the activities depending on your students' interests! 1. Booklet: You may print this activity. Students can practice coloring, tracing, and folding or cutting the small booklet. Talk about each of the pictures with your child and encourage the student to say each sentence as they color! It should be fun!

2. It Feels: You may print this activity. This worksheet is great for students who might not like the booklet! Find objects, items, and/or materials around the house and place them on top of each square. As you place each item on the worksheet, use the sentence "it feels..." to describe how it feels! Have fun!

3. How do you Feel: You may print this activity OR display it on an ipad/phone. This is great for students who might be having a hard time explaining how they feel right now. Simply ask the student how he/she feels and encourage him/her to point to an emotion. Encourage the student to use the sentence "I feel" or "I feel __ because...".
