Third Sunday of Easter
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
BRINGING FORTH THE LIGHT
*CALL TO WORSHIP
my righteous God.
have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
P: 2 How long will you people turn my glory into shame?
How long will you love delusions and seek false gods ?
L: 3 Know that the LORD has set apart his faithful servant for
himself; the LORD hears when I call to him.
P: 4 Tremble and do not sin;
when you are on your beds,
search your hearts and be silent.
L: 5 Offer the sacrifices of the righteous
and trust in the LORD.
P: 6 Many, LORD, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?”
Let the light of your face shine on us.
L: 7 Fill my heart with joy
when their grain and new wine abound.
P: 8 In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, LORD,
*INVOCATION
Divine Companion, from beginning to end, we rest in your
embrace, though we do not always acknowledge or recognize your presence. All along our days you journey with us. Sometimes you are a loud shout to help us to heed your call. Sometimes you are a quiet whisper to help us to listen. You help shape our questions and are patient with our answers. You are full of compassion and care like a loving grandmother. You love us tenderly like a mother
cradling her child. You give us visions to soar like the eagle. Like a wise doctor, you heal our memories with a gentle touch. O God, how wonderful you are. How good it is to be in your presence. We bring to you our whole life, our joy and our grief, our patience and our worry, our dreams and our despair. Like a long-time friend, you know us, beginning to end. And you
embrace us into new life. Amen.
