ACfE Press Release Aug 2018. Students in the Abingdon Consortium for Education are once again celebrating outstanding A Level exam results. The percentage of students across Fitzharrys, John Mason and Larkmead schools achieving at A/A* grades was 26%, with 50% A*/B. Sarah Brinkley, Chair of the Abingdon Consortium for Education and Headteacher of John Mason School commented, ‘This represents a fantastic achievement for the students in Abingdon, proof of the consistently rising standards in our community and first class teaching. Students in our care achieve the very best results and because of their academic success, go on to do extraordinary things; whether at university, in an apprenticeship or employment. I couldn’t be more proud of them all.’ The Abingdon Consortium continues to offer the flexibility for students to study a huge range and combination of courses within Abingdon, which is broadening horizons for students who choose to study in the town. A particular strength of this consortium of schools is its success in science, maths and computing subjects, achieving in the top 25% of schools in the country. Students in the Abingdon Consortium for Education are once again celebrating outstanding A Level exam results.
