Windows sharing to Linux
In this topic we shall see how to share a windows folder and access it in Linux
1> Share a folder in Windows
Windows IP address 192.168.1.9 and USER is the user in the windows 7/8
Now login to Linux and access all the shared folder on Windows
smbclient -L 192.168.1.9 -U USER
· Create a directory in linux and mount it
mkdir -p /software
mount -o username=USER //192.168.1.9/StageR1225 /software
When I ran rapidwiz, I got below error

EBS R12 - 12.2 installation problem, not able to run DB installer. check staging area
During the prerequisite checks in EBS 12.2 installation, you may encounter the following problem .."not able to run DB installer. check staging area.."
This problem is mostly caused by missing permissions in the stage Area, especially the permission of the tool named runInstaller which is used for installation of an oracle database..
Rapidwiz (EBS Installer ) wants to run RunInstaller in the prereq check phase, in order to ensure that it can be executed without any problems.. This seems to be required because rapidwiz uses runInstaller in the database tier installation..
So, to fix this error check runInstaller file permission.
This file is located in the stage , exactly in the TechInstallMedia/database directory.,
If there are missing permission in that file.. ( most probably there are..); use "chmod -R 777 database" command to add the permissions ..
Note that: chmod -R 777 is a high authorization but I dont see any harm on doing that against a directory which is in the stage..
Note that:
Normally, I dont write blog posts for such errors, but I could not find any source for this information, that's why, I thought it can be useful.
ISSUE-3 - system check status failed (Database pre-install check)
Before installing we should unzip the all media files using following command until you get all valid outputs

Problem:
Some exceptions that appeared during the installation, mainly during the environment health check.
RW-00048: Error: Verify that the format of the file /etc/hosts is of the form "IPAddress hostname.domainname hostname"
Solution: On the host files, be sure the file is having only on space between the ip and the host name, do not use tabs. Be sure your hostname exceeds the 30 characters.
127.0.0.1 [host name].[full domain name] [hostname]
Problem:
Not able to run DB installer. Check staging area.
Solution: Allways check using md5sum the downloaded zips. You have the digest area one-delivery to check the md5 tokens.
Problem:
oracle.apps.fnd.txk.config.ProcessStateException: OUI process failed : Exit=139 See log for details.
Solution: Check in this post the list of zip files that should be on the zip folder when running createStage script. Fo not maintain any zip that is not on the list in this folder or else you can have this exception.
Problem:
