Guide to Noodle Tools– Free Bibliography Generator
If you have not done so in school, click here and see directions below.
Use what you picked in school.
Try using your school ID 1st, and then click ‘check availability’.Your password MUST be 4 characters long. Add your 1st initial of your 1st name to your school password.

Click here if you have not started a bibliography/works cited for this project.
Type the name of your project and then click ‘Create Project’.
Click ‘Bibliography’ to get started.
Click here to open the drop-down menu. Choose what you want to cite: book; website; encyclopedia (reference source), database, etc. You MUST click on ‘Create Citation’ after choosing which source you wish to cite.

Reference Source Example:Use for encyclopedias, atlases, dictionaries, etc.
If there is more than 1 author, click ‘Add another contributor’. You can use the up/down arrows to move the authors.The author for an encyclopedia entry is listed immediately below the end of the entry. Do NOT use the editor of the encyclopedia– that person did not write the entry.

Website Example
You can’t always find the author of a webpage. Try looking at the bottom of the page, or on the ‘contact’ tab, if it isn’t listed under the title. If you can’t find it, leave it blank.
This is the title of the page you are on, NOT the URL (address). This is usually found at the top of the page. It might be the name of the tab you clicked on from the home page.
If the website lists a citation, you can just copy the MLA citation and paste it here.
This is not always given. If it is, it will be near the author, or at the bottom of the page. Copy and paste from the address bar of the site you’re on.
