1. Scroll down and select the green link: Go to website.
2. Enter your last name & library card number
and click Log In.
3. Create an account or Login to begin.
Getting Started
Lynda.com will ask your interests and job aspirations in order to tailor recommendations for courses.
View recommended courses by clicking on
your name in the upper-right corner and click ‘Recommendations’.
Update your interests at any time to receive
more recommendations.
Personalize Your Instruction
Access the homepage at any time
by clicking on the Lynda.com icon
in the upper-right of the page.
Pickup where you left off on
in-progress courses in the
‘Continue Watching’ section.
Searching Lynda.com
Search for topics and courses by entering the keyword into the search box at the top of the screen.
Browse available courses by topic by clicking on the ‘Library’ drop-down beside the search bar.
Click on the ‘Hi’ dropdown located in the top-right corner to access your account menu.
My Profile: Edit your profile and contact information, update your interests to get more course recommendations, or sign-up for updates about Lynda content.
Playlists: Access your playlists.
History: Access your viewing andcourse history.
My Goals: Update the skillsets and professions that interest you.
Recommended: View Lynda.com recommended courses and learning paths based off of your interests.
Certificates: View and access your certificates for completed courses.
Bookmarks: Access bookmarks that you’ve marked in your courses.
Log out: Sign out of your Lynda.com account.
Your Account
Learning paths combine courses on a particular topic or skillset to create focused learning track. Create your own in
Playlists, or use the curated learning paths provided by Lynda.com.
Learning Path topics are grouped under the following headings. The (#) indicates the number of learning paths per topic.

The title of the Learning Path will indicate the topic.
The time listed will be how long it takes to complete all of the courses in a path.
Course title and authoritative source / author.
Course description.
Length of course and level (beginner, intermediate, etc.).
See other courses related to the topic.
Click on the box to either preview the course or to begin.
Add courses to a playlist to organize your courses for easy retrieval.

The Table of Contents is located to the left of the video.
Videos are separated into chapters and subsections.
Click on a section to skip to that video.
Click on a bookmark to mark as section or video.
A blue ‘eye’ marks videos that you have already completed.
Use the Notebook feature to take notes on the course.

Beneath the video:Overview: Gives a course description, information about the instructor, the course level (beginner, intermediate, etc.), and the number of views.
Transcript: Provides a word-for-word transcript for that video.
View Offline: This feature is used on the Lynda.com app and not available for the library version of Lynda.com.
Exercise Files: Some courses provide examples, samples, and files needed to practice course content. These are downloadable to your computer and should be viewed as safe content.
Scroll down further to see course suggestions based off of the current video.
Inside a Course: Overview, Transcripts, and Exercise Files
Some topics cover subjects or products that normally require that you have specific hardware or software in order to use it. Practice environments are spaces and links within the course where you can use a mock version or simulation to practice the topic.
Click on the </> symbol
in the table of contents to
access a practice environment.

A certificate of completion is created when you finish a course. Share these on LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter. Print or email the certificate for submission of proof at work.
Access your certificates at any time by clicking on your name in the upper-right corner of Lynda.com and choosing ‘Certificates’.
