INSTRUCCIONES

En este cuaderno vas a encontrar actividades correspondientes a nivel básico de Ingles con las que se valorará tu competencia en las destrezas de comprensión y expresión oral y escrita.

En primer lugar, vas a responder a las preguntas relacionadas con comprensión oral (LISTENING) dispones de 25 minutos. Lee primero las preguntas referidas a las audiciones y después escucha con atención. Cada audición se emitirá dos veces. No se trata de un ejercicio de memoria, por lo que es más importante que comprendas, no que recuerdes. No interrumpas durante la audición, pues puedes entorpecer la comprensión a los demás compañeros

En segundo lugar vas a responder a las preguntas relacionadas con la comprensión escrita (READING). Dispones de 50 minutos. Para responder correctamente debes, antes de empezar a contestar, leer con detenimiento los textos. Puedes consultar los textos tantas veces como consideres necesario a lo largo de la prueba.

En todas las pruebas encontrarás esta tabla de respuestas, donde verás que se te facilita un ejemplo en la repuesta 0. Debes escribir en esta tabla las respuestas ( T /F en oraciones de verdadero o falso, o bien la letra de la opción correcta)

Finalizado el tiempo para las actividades de comprensión escrita, dispones de 60 minutos para las pruebas de expresión escrita (WRITING). Aquí las preguntas son abiertas y tienes que responder en inglés. Puedes realizar anotaciones o hacer un borrador en las páginas en blanco que aparecen en el cuadernillo.

Utiliza un bolígrafo azul o negro para todas tus respuestas. No utilices Typex. No escribas nada en los recuadros en gris que aparecen en la página inicial de cada cuaderno.

Por último, se te dará la citación con la hora a la que deberás asistir al aula de Usos Múltiples a partir de las 11’10. Puedes enseñarla al profesor del aula como justificante para salir de clase. Sé puntual. Dispondrás de 5 minutos para preparar la prueba con la pareja asignada. En el caso de que la pareja no se presentara a la prueba, se asignará otra pareja o se podrá realizar la actividad por tríos.

La prueba de expresión oral (SPEAKING) consta de dos partes: la primera consiste en un monólogo en el que debes hablar sobre un tema propuesto por el examinador, el cual podrá ir haciéndote preguntas para mantener el hilo de la conversación. La segunda parte consiste en un diálogo por parejas sobre una situación con roles propuesta por el examinador. GOOD LUCK!

HOW TO BE AN ALLIEN

0) In England everything is different. You must understand that when people say “England”, they sometimes mean “Great Britain”(England, Scotland and Wales), sometimes the “British Isles” (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), sometimes the “British Isles” (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland) – but never just England

1) The Englishman uses few words but he shows a lot with them. A European looks at a beautiful place and says, “The river over there is like the Guadalquivir in the Sierra de Cazorla and is 650 km long. It runs south-west to the Atlantic Ocean...” You cannot speak like this in England. An Englishman looks at the same place. He is silent for two or three hours and then he says, “It´s pretty, isn´t it?”.

2) This is the most important subject in the land. In Europe, people say , “He is the type of person who talks about the weather”, to show that somebody is very boring. In England, the weather is always an interesting, exciting subject and you must be good at talking about it.

3) If he puts out his hand to shake yours, do not take it. Smile and wait. When he stops trying to shake your hand, try to shake his. Repeat this game all afternoon or all evening. Your new friend asks you if you are well: “How do you do?”.But do not forget: he does not really want to know. To him it does not matter if you are well or if you are dying of a terrible illness. Do not answer.

4) If you go for a walk with a friend in England, don´t say a single word for hours; if you go for a walk with your dog, talk to it all the time.

5) It was once a good drink; with lemon and sugar it tastes very pleasant. But then the British decided to put cold milk and no sugar in it. They made it colourless and tasteless. In the hands of the English, it became an unpleasant drink, like dirty water.

Nigeria's low-cost tablet computer

Nigeria's Saheed Adepoju is a young man with big dreams. He is the inventor of the Inye, a tablet computer designed for the African market.

According to the 29-year-old entrepreneur, his machine's key selling point is its price - $350 (£225) opposed to around $700 for an iPad.

He believes that, because of this, there is a big market for it in Nigeria and elsewhere in Africa, particularly amongst students.

He is also hoping to sell his tablet - which runs on the Google Android operating system - to the Nigerian government and plans to have at least one computer in each local government area.

"The Inye is a mobile internet device. It gives you access to the internet; it allows you to play media files and watch movies. What we have is an 8-inch device, a device that is half-way between a laptop and a mobile phone," he told the BBC's series African Dream."You have the standard software applications that come pre-installed and then you have the ones that we are working with various local developers to bundle on," he added.

Among those local apps there is one designed to raise awareness about HIV and others related to water and sanitation

"We work with local developers that have expertise in particular areas so that we don't end up doing so much work and we just have a collaborative way of doing things together," he said.
