COLLECT The collect is a prayer near the beginning of Mass. First we are invited to pray, then in silence we pray for the things that are in our heart. Then the leader says the aloud the final part of the prayer. The silence is important for us.Kind God, you love us even while we are troubled and struggling. You encourage us, lift us up and fill us with gladness and joy. We pray that you will accept the prayers of our hearts, through Jesus Christ your Son who lives with you and the Holy Spirit.

All: Amen. First READING: Zechariah 9:9-10 International Children’s Bible
