Elements of art notes
Color: Primary colors – red, yellow, and blueMixing colors- red + yellow= Orange Yellow + blue = Green Red + blue = purple
HUE- another word for a colors nameIntensity- how bright/ pure or dull a color is.
To change intensity, mix complementary colors together. Complementary color pairs - red + green
Blue + orangePurple + yellow
Value: The lightness or darkness of a colorThis is a value scale.....
Line: A line is a dot that is traveling..... It has 4 parts to it.
SIZE: how long/short/fat/skinny the line is.
FREQUENCY: how close or far apart the lines are.
DIRECTION: Which way is it going, vertical/horizontal/diagonal/spiral
STYLE: what does it look like? zig-zag, swirly, doted, dashed, etc...
Shape:
Form: Real 3D objects are ACTUAL forms. Drawn 3D items are IMPLIED forms. When drawn VALUE helps to
show form. The sun or a light source helps us to find the values and see the forms.
Texture:
Space: can be shown with....Location size color overlapping
